im also ok with filters that rather than trying to soften the pixels with scanlines, try to "blend them" and make them look "cartoony"(with few rendering imperfections).
+1 for options to adjust how the filter(s) looks; could be nice also to have the option to tweak sharpness, contrast, saturation, and blur. that could allow fine tuning the appearance.
Maybe the optioin to mix different types of filters could allow some interesting visual effects. maybe more "trippy" and psychedelic.
