Is There a Shortcut Back to This Late Game Area? (Spoiler Tagged)

So, I finally managed to reach a particular place on the map that I had been trying to get to for some time. If there are still some mysteries you haven't solved yet, reveal the spoilers one at a time to figure out if this is something you already know about or not. It's an area found at the top of a long shaft. I reached it by bubble-hopping up the well directly above where you place the flames from a room connected to the side of the well. It appears to be the playable character's house.

Anyways, it took me several attempts to get here, and there are at least a few things here I presume I will need to come back to later. I was hoping I would unlock a shortcut in here somewhere to make returning here later easier, but I can't find anything. Am I missing something, or am I going to have to repeat that tedious process to get back here in the future?
