Did anyone else do this to the Ostrich?

I felt a Super Metroid feeling of regret when I drowned the Ostrich in my first playthrough, and I decided to make a 2nd run where I "Save the Animals," not just the Ostrich. I found away to save the Ostrich while getting its flame, and did the same for what I consider "not fighting" the Dog spirit. At that time, my main motivation was to see if the skulls blocking a chest would not pile up through playing the pacifist.

Did you spare a main boss like I did? And has anyone found a way to get the Chameleon flame without hurting it? I've yet to try throwing many many firecrackers but it might lead to something.

I was wondering what would happen if you got yourself kinda... "locked?" in the room with the charmeleon. But i can't imagine how or why what i had in mind, would make the boss leave and let you pass...

Was thinking of using the flute to make the hedgehogs fall off, leaving you unable to win. Not sure if i would ever have bothered or even remember to try this.

I've done that accidentally multiple times! But I haven't had a long battle of attrition. I got eaten or fell off

The Chameleon is the last Pacifist Flame on my list since the water fight isn't harming anyone.

Sounds like a good idea though. Just surviving him for a while would be a nice "pacifist win" method. Love it when games give you weird ways of winning a fight.
