First a large ghost dog will chase you if you pick up a certain item near the start, floating after you and doing damage on contact.
Secondly The endings of the game have you chased by a shadowy mystery animal(?) that shoots lasers from its eyes.
Neither is really jumpscary horror type stuff, there's zero blood or gore, and I'm pretty sure I'd have been fine with it when I was a kid. They're both more about introducing a bit of time pressure and stress, and both can be made rather easy with some thinking.
Oh and occasionally a very large kangaroo can appear, which is more of a "jumpscare" but not particularly... horrory? It's just surprising.
There are ghosts but they're more an obstacle than a threat.
There are few instances that go a bit more into the "fear" factor which are the chase scenarios by different animals. But they're normally done just once.
Just to name some, the Dachshund and Ostrich made me jump the first time.
That and the final area being dark and creepy alltogether for story reasons.
But overall it's pretty tame compared to other games tagged as horror.
