Thank you for your question regarding the arrows. I can indeed confirm that by default the key to switch arrows is ''G''.
If it doesn't work you could try to reset your controls by default. In addition, you can visualise in your inventory how many arrows of each type you have or can craft [www.ubisoft.com].
Let us know if you were able to switch arrows!

Would an autohotkey script (ahk) that reassigned G to another key work?
Also, does viewing the arrow types have anything to do with selection? I've tried to select other than normal arrows on that expanded quiver screen with no success; do I have to be on a specific screen to cycle the arrow types, or does it work on the fly in some rotation?
Thanks!
Viewing and crafting arrows would just make sure you actually have arrows available to switch to in case, even if in the situation where you have no arrows available you would still be able to select the type you want.
I can confrm that you can use the ''G'' key to switch arrow at anytime in game, in a fight or out of fight as well for example.
Also, we do not recommend using scripts in case it interferes with other aspects of the game. However, you could try to assign the action to another key that is not ''G'' to see if it works and instead of resetting everything to default.
Let us know if it works!

Thank you for getting back to me regarding your issue switching arrows. By default, the key ''G'' will select the next type of arrow available in a windows that appears on the bottom left of the screen. Visually it works exactly like when equipping the torch with the key ''T'' by default.
In order to investigate this further, could you verify if you have any equipment that has a trait not allowing you to use special arrows for example? In addition, and just in case, I could advise you to verify the files of your game.
Let me know the result of these step or if you have more information!
