Cursor flicker
Ont he main menu, my mouse seems to flicker, like it keeps switching between my mouse or my controller....anyone else have this? After actually trying to play the game, it is getting confused betwen my mouce and my controller, I have a corsair mouse, this is very interesting....hm. It would not let me move my character, he would just flicker back and forth. Very strange, even tried to unplug the mouse.

I actually fired up Orgins to see if it did it there as well, it seems to be just an issue with this game, is there something that could be making my mouse over ride the controller?

Yes I have the same issue, just made a post but doesn't seem like it gets any traction. Have you found a solution cause at the moment my game is unplayable?

I figured out how to solve it mate, do the following steps and it'll work just fine.

Step 1: Turn off your game completely
Step 2: Remove the batteries from the controller
Step 3: Launch game to the main menu (Don't start game yet)
Step 4: Go to options, then controls and scroll down until you see "input device", Change that from "Auto-Switch" to "Mouse & Keyboard"
Step 5: Then start up the controller and touch some buttons, if the game doesn't react to the controller it works

I just want to say that you are a total lifesaver. I thought I was going to have to buy a new controller or something and this completely fixed all of my problems. Again many many many thanks

Yeah, I was going a bit insane when it kept doing this every minute. Happy gaming!

It seems the input defaults to auto-switch and I've had it revert back to flickering inputs mid game. I switch input device to the controller but if I lose an even the slight connection with my controller, it will go back to auto-switch. I've had the this happen while under water. It causes the game camera to look up making it hard to switch the input device back to the controller.

So keeping it on keyboard and mouse in the input wont be permanent? Do what I said above;

I played the game for more than a hundred hours with a controller and it worked perfect. But from on eday to another it started flickering between K+M and the controller. I tried the trick with the batteries out but after I reconnected my controller there is no reaction. Is there any solution to this? This is so anoying ;(

I don't even OWN a controller much less use one and this is happening to me too.

I do not own a controller and am getting the same issue. Cannot choose any menu options and cannot play the game.

Had same issue. Wasn't a controller, but my joystick that was causing the conflict. Used it to change the input device to Mouse & Keyboard. Problem solved.

Just switch the controls to your controller, doesn't get any easier than that.

Can you shoot me a screenshot of where the button is suppose to be?

I see there has not been a clear answer for some. For those that are using mouse and keyboard that can't even get into the option tab in the start screen, you will have to make adjustments in the configuration file. You will have a folder in your Documents folder for Assassin's Creed(should be the same for any of them, or any other game really), and within that folder there should be a .ini file (for Origins is shows as just ACO). You will need to open that file with notepad and scroll down to the line that says "AutoSwitchEnabled=1" and change it to:

AutoSwitchEnabled=0

Then save and close.

Hopefully this can help others to come as this was the first link to show up for me on google.
