Game freezes, still sound
Heya,

So now and then I get a random game freeze, but I can still hear the ambient sound. No error, no crash to desktop, just a frozen screen with ambient sound still going. Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution to this?

Hey,

Thanks for reporting this.

Can you confirm if your drivers are fully updated?

It may be worthwhile performing a clean installation of your video drivers.

If this does not help, please let me know.

I did update my graphics card driver yesterday, but haven't since touched the game yet. I'll try once I get home later today.

I didn't get to spend a long time on the game yesterday sadly, but the time I played I didn't get any of the freezes. I'll try and play some more and longer today and let you know :)

Ah, sorry to hear this Aelynthi!

Please try verifying the game's files:

1. Restart your computer and launch Steam
2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files... button.
4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.

If the issue persists, try temporarily disabling background apps:

1. Close all open programs and reboot your PC.
2. Press the Windows and R keys simultaneously.
3. Type msconfig into the box and press Enter.
4. Choose Selective startup.
5. Uncheck Load startup items.
6. Reboot your system.

Test again. Let me know if it keeps happening!

I've done the verify integrity of game files before. Was one of the first things I tried. I'll try the other option either later today or tomorrow after work again. Thanks for the help so far :)

PS: Nice profile picture, Spud ;D

Sadly not, my game froze again late night right before I went to bed after playing for about 90 minutes. Although the frequency of it happening has slowed down.
