Exploration mode not working?
The first quest did what it was supposed to. Gave directions on the map, no marker

Now, I can't get rid of quest markers even with exploration mode enabled. It keeps showing me the golden diamond thing.

Is this a bug or am I not understanding what exploration mode is fully?

Same problem here, I hope I'm not misunderstanding what exploration mode is. I was really excited about it.

Does it only do that for the main quest or do side quests do the same thing?

If you turn off Exploration mode, will it look the same or does it give you more information?

Happening to me as well. Its enabled, but I still have tonnes of question marks littered across the map. Doesn't seem to be happening in side quests at least from what I've experienced, and turning it on and off has no effect. Although like the guy before said, maybe I'm just misunderstanding the extent of the feature.

It's certainly supposed to be more vague with it's prompts about quests.

Could you grab a screenshot or video showing exploration enabled and how it appears for you?

I have the same problem. Exploration mode still shows yellow markers on map and on screen. Will take screenshot asap

Don't know if this is identical to the other's but is this how exploration mode is supposed to look? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1531809645

I play with minimal HUD so I don't have a compass. I have the golden objective symbol on screen, even on side quests.

For exemple, a guy tell me to free his brother, I have on map his exact location of his cage and when I go there, I have the golden symbol on top of his cage in the game world. So the exploration mode is not working for me as I'm supposed to find things on my own.
As well as OP, it oddly worked only for the first quest : find the vineyard.

Thanks for the extra details guys.

Just quickly try verifying the files, to make sure there's not some issue or corruption causing it. That can be done through the steps here

I don't think that will help, but just want to ensure we've done due diligence. Also please can you provide a screenshot that shows the quest marker on the screen?

Same here. First quest was good, then I've gotten markers. I'm not sure the exact moment they appeared. This can't be how exploration mode is supposed to be right? Note it's not on the compass but is on the screen. It looks the same with both guided and exploration settings, and restarting the game after changing each setting doesn't make a difference.

What you have to do is untrack the quest on your log (click on it) and the marker will disappear. The thing is sometimes, when getting a new quest, the marker appears again and you have to go the log to untrack it again.

And, by the way, the Exploration mode is quite limited, because it only works for some quests and not for all the quest steps. I like the idea, it's like in the game series Gothic, where all you have is your map of the world (without any dynamic markers) and your questlog, and you have to explore and learn the map. I hope more games do this in the future, but forced, not just as an option.

Did you ever figure that out?

For me, it randomly started working again about 4-5 hours later of game time while exploring Phokis. I'm not risking turning it back off and on again lol

Hmmm...Thanks. I am just at 2 hours of play time and not sure if I want to go past that to test any further. Thinking about refunding. Is this a known bug?

Um, that screenshot right there indicates that Exploration mode is turned off. The exploration mode box isn't ticked.

It's confusing. When the box is ticked it changes to Guided. There's no option to check the box AND have exploration displayed.
