Even after Assassinating the Mersala Swordfish Cultist, the Fragment and Information Don't Update

I moved to the hideout where the Swordfish is located due to another quest. After assassinating the Swordfish, I continued to enjoy the game, but later, when I was searching for information regarding the fragments, I realized that the Swordfish was a cultist. After completing the prerequisite quest, I revisited the hideout, but the Swordfish was gone, there were no clues, and the information hasn’t updated. I would appreciate any assistance with this issue.

when you kill a Cultist, it counts no matter if you already knew they were a cultist or not. you just have to make sure to "finish them"/confirm the kill in the usual manner - that will be available, and get you the rewards. Does the Swordfish show up as dead in your cultist tracker menu?

Actually he is not supposed to be there until you find all the clues, at least that is the way it used to work. If you went there early there would just be no one there. However that was back in 2018 or early 2019 and something could have changed with the dozen or so title updates since then.

The important thing is if he shows up as dead in the Cultist window. He is in the Heroes of the Cult section. If he shows as assassinated then I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes as said, you have to go through the clue process or else it's messed up.
