If the gaming world was flipped the other way and almost all games had only female protagonists I'm sure plenty of male voices would be squealing.
It always strikes me as strange that being socially aware is seen as a bad thing.
Regarding not playing the game because they don't give us an option to play as our gender, that's also a personal preference. Whether you agree with it or not is hardly relevant to the way I feel. You may "personally" deny it but I bet a good majority of males would feel the same way if 95% of games made where made with female protagonists. As a matter of fact, you see it all the time with the limited of games that do feature a female protagonist only. Gosh, even with Odyssey there were a lot of guys complaining about Kassandra, and they were given a choice.
I understand that there was a time when males where the predominant gaming demographic. But its almost 2023 and times have changed. Females make up a good portion of that demographic nowadays too and we are, for the most part, simply and after thought with many game developers. We don't want games to be just female only protagonists, we just want the option. Its time things changed to make us more inclusive and it would be so nice if males joined us in that regard instead of making it an "us against them" thing.
Why is it so hard for you to understand this is a story...specifically about ONE character (who happens to be a male) that you meet in valhalla. You are looking way to hard into this and completely ignoring the story of one of the OG members of the Creed and how his story came to be. I cant believe people are actually poo poo faced about what ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gender you play in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
Some people really like to identify with the character they play as.
In my case i try to play females so i DONT identify with the character, because i can play a female character that makes choices i wouldn't make, but i CANNOT play a male character that makes choices i wouldn't make because i identify with them more making it annoying when they act ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid... i honestly stopped buying games with male protags because of it... it's honestly a pain in the ass because i can't help it either. KEK.
I found that Valhalla was too long and I got a bored with it. Also the fighting was simple. In Odyssey you can specialize your build. I am mastery 52 now and just has some of most amazing fast action boss fights. But it is too bad you have grind a lot to experience just how good fighting can be Odyssey. But that is what keeps me replaying Odyssey with new builds and armor sets and different play styles. Whereas I am pretty much finished with Valhalla and I have no desire to do another play through.
