PS5 Controller Won't Work

So I bought the game during the summer sale, played it for a bit, and my controller worked just fine. MH Rise came out, moved into other games, here we are four months later and I finally decide to pick the game up again to play. NOW my controller doesn't work.

On the main menu the 'circle' icon flicks back and forth between the mouse cursor and the circle when I move it with the controller. I have to push 2-3 buttons to get any sort of confirmation on any of the menus I select. If I actually try to play the game, I just stutter step the in game. So, basically, the game is unplayable with a controller.

I have tried verifying the game cache, I've tried reinstalling the game, and I've tried editing the ACOdyssey file in the game's document folder as I've seen in threads already posted. I've also tried unplugging my controller before the game launches, then plugging it in after the game has started. Nothing seems to fix the problem.

Have you looked at your keyboard and mouse as maybe causing the issue?

Have you gotten a new kbm setup lately? Is there any software you use in conjuction with your kbm setup?

Have you tired using a different keyboard and mouse?

Have you tired setting the controls in Odyssey's settings to controller only?

Can you update the firmware of your PS5 controller?(I had to do this on my xbox one controller when it was causing problems on a different game)

My controller is up to date, and nothing about my set up has changed in the last year really. Everything was working four months ago, as far as Odyssey is concerned

I'm using the Dualsense too in AC:Odyssey and I don't have any issue with it.

Got it working now. Changed the controller settings to Steam Input and that fixed it.

I have this exact issue but on ubi connect, even when closing steam 😭😭 it used to work just fine with my dualsense but now it just switches back and forth every frame between controller and mouse and keyboard

it used to work and now its like this :(

Ubisoft Connect does not change the controller input in game?

I dont have ac odyssey on steam, i have it on ubi connect. When using the Dualsense controller, in AC odyssey it swaps between mouse cursor and the controller circle every other millisecond, flashing back and forth.

Only happens in AC odyssey, xdefiant works perfectly well with the dualsense. I suppose ac odyssey doesnt support that controller, but then again it recognizes it, its just buggy

Same issue here. Why are you not giving him an answer ? A simple : "We are going to find out" would be enough. But you prefer being silent everytime you made bad work.

Add the AC Odyssey exe. to steam as a non-steam game and you can customize steam controller settings that way, hope it helps

Does your controller support wired connection? If yes, please try with a cable.
Can you tell us where both the game and UC are installed?

There have been reports of PS controllers not working correctly with some older games over years but there isn't one universal solution to it.

Is your controller correctly recognised in the game settings section?
