to help you, I would need some more informations about your system.
Which graphics card are you using?
Is that game installed on a ssd or hdd?what OS are you using?
Just delete the folder named CACHE in your ac odissey settings folder here ->
\Users\<YourUserName>\Documents\Assassin's Creed Odyssey\
Graphics card is using Geforce RTX 4080, the driver is installed.
the game is installed on a ssd, i am using windows 11
I try but not working
That is a known fix for the white loading screen, it worked for many here.
Are you sure you are deleting the right folder ?
Your nvidia drivers are up to date ?
After you choose a character it tries to make an autosave to your drive and then send it to the Cloud. If it has problems communicating to the Cloud then it just sits there like that waiting.
Another thing that may also help is go into Windows Security and make an Exclusion for the Odyssey game folder and if you use a 3rd party virus scanner make an exclusion there too. Since it is trying to write to the Cloud across the Internet a virus scanner may be blocking communication
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Keep it on man !!!!!
Another wrong statement, like always, if the game pass the dlc checks before the main menú it can comunicate whit the servers, the firewall isn't blocking the executable....... Keep entertaining us whit this ♥♥♥♥ please !
Making an exclusion for a game DOES NOT put you at any risk at all, it just keeps the Defender or 3rd party virus scanners from constantly scanning games which can cause communication problems as well as eat up CPU cycles affecting game performance and even causing stuttering. There is no reason to constantly scan a game folder for viruses after it has been installed
You are a level ZERO troll and I'm an Electronics Engineer with 32 years experience and before I became an engineer I worked for Gateway Computers as a components compliance tester
If was the AV blocking the exe and not the firewall why it was running ? lol........ When an AV block some executable they are NOT allowed to run at all right ? LOLOL
I m not trolling i just correct your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid statements like i did in the other thread and i supported all my claims whit data and a way to reproduce what i was telling you, on the other hand the super old fart retired engineer whit a gazilion years of experience that worked whit z80s and 6502s in the 80s never produced anything in support of his claims !!! just your word, 0 facts.
I don t give a ♥♥♥♥ about your holy crusade against ubisoft connect, just stop telling people to disable the overlay and cloud saves becouse YOU, ONE TIME, had a problem UNRELATED TO THIS ONE, disabling those will not fix a shader compile problem......
The fact that you parrot everytime you WAS a Electronics Engineer ( 32 YEARS AGO ) to me and the people you try to "help" sounds desperate "HEY IM AN ENGINEER, I AM SKILLED, EVEN IF WE ARE TALKING SOFTWARE PROBLEMS, THIS IS MY FIELD !!!
I AM ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RIGHT, I DONT NEED TO BRING ANY PROOF, DATA OR ANYTHING JUST BELIEVE ME !!!! I AM A FRECKING ENGINEERRRRRRRRRR
The screams of desperation, you can t produce anything in support of your claims and so you parrot "I AM AN ELETRONIC ENGINEERRRRRRRRRR BELIEVE MEEEEEEE BROOOOOOOOO"
With my solution I have over 250 hours without a single crash or start problem. In fact the last time I had a crash I was running a 3070 Ti and have yet to have a crash on my 4070 Ti and I also went to a 1440p ultrawide monitor and had to hex edit the EXE so the game would do ultrawide cut scenes correctly.
For starters do a clean install whit the latest drivers and check again the game graphics options.... but i'm guessing the op didn't come back after he tryed a second time because it worked.
If that still don't work i would check his cpu whit this: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/15951/intel-processor-diagnostic-tool.html
+ HWiNFO to check temps and whea errors
Maybe his cpu is affected by the latest intel scandal, you are a seasoned professional of the sector so you should know what i'm talking about.
If you really was thinking about a network related problem for the cloud saves that torment you in your sleep at night why you didn't just asked to verify that by just unplugging the ethernet cable after passing the dlc checks for example ?
It is a very effective, quick and simple way to check if it's REALLY a network problem or not, if you disable the cloud save sync ( thing that happen outside the game anyway ) you are still connect to the internet and the game it's still making traffic so........................
We agree if it was a firewall problem the game wasn't passing the dlc checks OR if the AV was blocking the executable it would not even start right ?
You was referring to the AV, not the firewall and talked about network problems so you created this confusion not me.
I'm not the one using the wrong terms ! can you re-read what you wrote ?
Do you know the difference betwen a firewall and an antivirus ? and don't come tell me most 3rd party "security suites" bundle them in a single app, what they do it's still different.
Another entertaining add, another offtopic to deviate the discussion like you did the last time ? maybe some kind of showoff to make people listen to your holy crusade against ubisoft connect ?
Even a primate can open a file in any hex-editor click on SearchAndReplace and copypaste the values from flawlesswidescreen a forum or whatever, literally less then 10 clicks.
You are useful than ubisoft staff. they just told me my CPU is not meet the minimum requirement.
Thank you for sharing that the kind advice others have shared has helped, this is great to hear!
If ever we can help in the future, just let us know.
Hey Mr. Engineer John ! Looks like the "level ZERO troll" was right on all 3 points uh ?
The suggested fix was the right one, the problem was related to nvidia drivers and the op didn't came back untill today cuz the problem was fixed.
GG mate, now, i hope you will stop making a fool of yourself on all AC forums with such uneducated guesses, you are an "Electronics Engineer" whit more then 32 years of expertize in the field after all, right ?
Correcting your "heavy inaccuracies" does not mean that I am trolling you, if I had been in your place I would have informed myself better, which you did not do, for the second time...... ( do you remember the thread where we met for the first time ? )
To me looks like the only thing that you care about is your holy crusade against the cloud saves and the overlay.
You got burned one time and now you blame literally everything on those 2 features, this is a behavior i would expect from someone whit ZERO knowledge on the discussed matters and the pc world in general.
