Attention Windows 11 Users
Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 version 24H2 is accidentally killing Ubisoft games such as Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and more.

As reported by VGC, Microsoft updated its support website to reveal it has placed a temporary block on Windows 11 for users with those games installed.

"After installing Windows 11, version 24H2, you might encounter issues with some Ubisoft games," Microsoft said. "These games might become unresponsive while starting, loading or during active gameplay.

"In some cases, users might receive a black screen. The affected games are Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

are they going to do anything about it????
Microsoft broke the games so it's up to Microsoft to fix the problem they caused.

As of August 2024 65% of the Desktop markets still used Windows 10 but on Steam it's about a 50-50 split
Ubisoft, fix when? It's been a week already
It's a Microsoft Windows problem ..... Game works perfectly on Windows 10

I love how you blame the people who DIDN'T cause the problem instead of the people who did...

Microsoft AND Ubisoft are working together to fix the problem... Read it again - I'm not blaming anyone, I'm simply asking a question: "When?".. Calm your tits

I only just bought this game yesterday, checked the discussions whilst it was downloading and got a little worried, however, I've had no issues playing so far, Windows 11 too, and fully up to date

I purchased it two days ago, but the game keeps crashing.
I have a fully updated windows 11 and its going fine for me, so it must not be every windows 11.

The problem is Windows Update and nothing else.
Ubisoft launcher is fine as hell actually.
If you believe in Wintrash to (fix) stuff, good luck.

Read comment sections.

Wildland too give an infinite loading screen because of Wintrash Update.

Are you sure you have the latest version installed? You can check by searching on the start menu for "winver" (without quotes) and in the dialog box that appears it should say version 24H2. If it doesn't say that then your Windows is outdated.

Your right, I thought it was fully updated. It's not. I have version 23H2.

Yeah, that explains why you are not having issues. I bought the game during the last sale so hopefully Ubisoft or Microsoft release a fix soon because I ain't downgrading Windows. Not when everything is stable and runs fine.
