i see no logic therefore in this being a connect update since that launcher i also run division games and valhalla directly from so thats current version. it must be something else.
Sucks how you need numerous launchers to play games you buy of Steam.

Connect only updates for the first game you start and when you start a different game it doesn't update again because it has already been updated
The easiest way to tell if the game itself is updated is to look at the time stamps of the game files and you will see none of them were updated except perhaps the manifest. Everything else is going to have an older timestamp
