ubi probably has to be online with steam the first time you run AO so
it can recognize it on your ubi account but after that ubi can be offline

now it has to be online only since Ubisoft connect. Ubi servers are down so no Odyssey.

I am beginning to hate PC games. Every single damn game requires a launcher and when the service isnt working you cant play. We paid with this with OUR money and they can easily take that away from us.

Maybe you miss out on 'something' but I only want to play the game and
that's possible with ubi offline.

Yes yes on the only condition the launcher could authentificate your ID to their servers. If servers are down before that you can't.

Your paid with your money yes, and how they do it is scummy.
But when you pay you also agree to users agreement that state that you in fact never buy the game just a licence to use it.

I made a post about this recently, I was having the hardest time troubleshooting why it would not launch for me either. It would get to the splash box and just sit there. It seems there could be a number of things causing this issue as I've seen multiple different solutions work for people. What worked for me was oddly the dumbest simplest solution of them all: just wait. Like really wait. Close to 10 minutes. That's what it took for mine to launch. I don't have a potato of a PC either, so no idea why. I kind of stopped banging my head on the desk troubleshooting it any further because I was just relieved it worked.

Some other solutions I saw work:
- Making sure it the game was connected through Ubisoft Connect and UC is open.
- Deleting the .ini file for the game.
- Deleting the shader cache folders for the game.
- Editing permissions of all 3: Steam, UC, and the Odyssey.exe to launch in admin mode.
- Reinstalling the game and UC on the same drive as your system if they aren't already.

Again these are just random other solutions I remembered seeing while researching and people said they worked for them. None of them worked for me though. Hopefully between all of that you can find a solution. Good luck!

The problem that day was due to a maintenance in Ubi servers, all their games were down.
OP isn't awnsering i think he had the problem like us and should be fixed now.

On the other hand I'm keeping you solution in mind because you know... UBISOFT

Hey Avelkain,

Sorry to hear it.
Are your Steam and Ubisoft accounts linked correctly?
Can you access the game via Ubisoft Connect library?
If yes, did you try launching it via UC?

almost a year later and its still the same problem. I just reintalled Odyssey from steam and experiencing the same. I have Ubisoft Connect but Odyssey is not showing in its library -- just Origin and Valhalla.

Hi IchigoBlue,

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue launching Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

The game should be added to your Ubisoft Connect games library once you have launched the game for the first time and your Ubisoft Connect and Steam accounts are linked.

Could you go please take a look at the troubleshooting listed below, and go through any of the steps you may not have tried to see if that helps:

- General PC troubleshooting[ubi.li]
- Clear Ubisoft Connect cache[ubi.li]
- Clear Steam cache[ubi.li]
- Ensure your game is running on a dedicated GPU[ubi.li]rather than an integrated GPU.
- Launch the game in Windows compatibility mode[ubi.li]if you are using Windows 11.
- Perform a SFC scan[ubi.li]
- Reinstall the support software[ubi.li]
- Ensure that the game is installed on the same drive as Ubisoft Connect and Steam, if it isn't already then you can move the installed files then locate the installed game files in Ubisoft Connect[ubi.li]

However, if the issue persists, could you submit a support ticket[support.ubi.com] and attach your system files dxdiag[support.ubi.com] and msinfo[support.ubi.com] and our Customer Support team will investigate this further for you.

I will now lock this thread as it is quite old.
