[SOLVED] Please fix display issue...
There is a display issue with 16:9 aspect ratio at 1920x1080 resolution (fullscreen) on PC where black bars are present at the top and bottom of the screen and it ruins the experience. I played Assassin’s Creed Origins with exactly the same settings and never had a problem.

What I've done to troubleshoot:

* Launched the game directly from Uplay.
* Launched the game from Steam.
* Adjusted the Screen Display Area.
* Ran the game in Windowed Mode and Borderless Windowed Mode.
* Tried lower and higher resolutions.
* Tried 16:10 aspect ratio and "All" aspect ratio.
* Increased the Resolution Modifier from 100% to 120% and 140%.
* Tried various VSync settings.
* Updated GeForce Game Ready Driver to Version 416.34 which is the latest one.

Note: I have also tried using Windowed Borderless Gaming - the game went from having big black bars at the top and bottom to small bars on all four sides during normal gameplay as well as cutscenes. I don't use Nvidia Control Panel and never have.

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz (8 CPUs), ~4.0GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
Card Name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti
Display Memory: 14273MB

Solution: Change to HDMI from VGA.

I'm playing with 16:9 and 1920x1080 and I'm not seeing this problem.

Not an acceptable solution imo since v-sync does now work playing odyssey with borderless window. Not for me atleast....

Please go here https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1946920-Black-borders to convey to ubisoft that this problem is of a mass nature.

I saw a setting that turned subtitle bars on and off, maybe check that? I didn't mess with it since i turned off subtitles and didn't have it on to begin with but might be worth a shot.

some monitors is NOT REAL "16:9"
could be help if you try "16:10"

also, in some case it need to install official "product" drives instead of Microsoft "GENERIC"

No black bars in 16/9 1080p

People with issues like this either have activated some weird ingame option), or have a third party software overifding game settings (mmm GPU suite...for example...)

Or I wonder if maybe missing some DX files... That's weird.

You don't have this problem so i, and everyone that do, thank you for letting us know that we have activated some weird ingame option or have a third party software "overifding" game settings. I'll be sure to let Ubisoft know so they can discontinue investigating this issue.
