How does recruiting and hiring work?

There are 4 slots. Can you just keep knocking out the people you want and recruit them and just hire them with Drachmae whenever you like?

yes, there are a few special npcs you can not recruite but other then that you can recruite nearly every npc as you like. (if they are not regular civilians in towns)

No. They stay there. My tip, hire Bountyhunters. They have the best stats, board other ships with you and are most powerfull with call to arms skill.

You will get more powerfull. Spartankick when tjhey are close to die. Good Luck.
