How is Kassandra Lorewise Main Character? ಠ_ಠ
lets take this in a more rational approach before someone goes out and say that im sexist or attacking anyone by accussing opposing opinions of being something that they are not.

I dont think Spartan women were actively taught by Spartan soldiers who are deeply rigid on traditionalism with using a Spear.... (I mean he's willing to punish you for breaking an ancient law so... y'know)

and Alexios name also = the greece defender
meanwhile Kassandra in latin-namewise means False Prophet
so...

y'know... I mean I honestly see a suitable Deimos as Kassandra even in playability.

Who cares? Its a video game based on the myths and legends of greek history, not the reality. All of the posts on here are ridiculous and show a person's true character to be honest. Just remember people, what gets posted to the net, stays on the net...forever.

a person's true character? just being rational is now considered a crime?

Spartan women were thought to be one of the most free in ancient times. While, mostly, women were expected to bear children over warring, were rised by mothers at home rather than fathers and were more expected to train their birth-rate potential (gymnastics, dance etc.) they were also able to learn literacy (unless they belonged to a lesser family) and had ability to posses both property and slaves. They also had an opportunity to be free, as the story of Kyniska implies (first woman to score a win in the olympics) so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a woman of Sparta like that in the real ancient history, alas - the records of that are unknown, and I suppose we will never know as most of the records of those times supposedly were burnt along with the library of Alexandria.
Do you just enjoy making pointless posts on steam every hour?

Yup - and you just entered its records with your toxicity. Also, Odyssey is half myths, half reality, as those are the only things we can base our assumptions on how it looked like. That, and a ton of historical remains , but oh well.

Well, you have to keep things in context with regards to Kassandra. AC:O is essentially a fantasy, game, as you're living the digital memories of your ancestors, all the while trying to defend humanity from a secret organization that wants to control the world with First Civilization technology. Oh, and there are mythological monsters to fight. :) In that context, it shoudn't be seen as out of place, or inappropriate for female Spartan warriors to exist. Initially it's kind of... odd, but once you realize it in context to the rest of the game, it ain't no thing. I mean, ask yourself - is a female Spartan fighter really any more ridiculous than, say, fighting gods and mythological creatures in a franchise that is largely centered around history?

Oh, also, one thing - Cassandra can't be reffered to latin, as ancient greek predates the latin language (that was developed in roman empire's dawn period) - Cassandra is mayhaps a bow to Cassandra of Troy that, as many greek tragedies go, was bestowed with the power of prophecies that were never believed to be true (but were).
I would like to know why all these people care about Kassandra being a female.

Also Kassandra being trained? Women couldn't go into the Agoge, that has nothing to do with home training.

We saw that historical accuracy isn't there even when its Alexios. If it was he'd be at the Agoge being trained. But he isn't. He's being trained at home.

Women had to be trained. They needed to be strong to give birth to strong warrior men. Now they didn't go to Agoge but they couldn't be weak. Weak parents mean weak child. Weak children get killed in the Agoge or abandoned. That's the Spartan way.

So Kassandra being trained isn't bad if you look at how she was trained if you're looking at historical accuracy that is.

And looking at historical accuracy Alexios being trained at home is where its lost. He's a Spartan boy who's older than 7, he should be at the Agoge.

What are you basing your opinions about women that can't go into agoge though. I'm happy to read it.

I'm speaking of historical facts. Men were trained from age 7 at the Agoge. Not women. Now i have never doubted that there were some women who went into the Agoge. But from the 1 year in school where we learned about Sparta, there were no recorded instances of women in the Agoge. That's just what i remember.

Doesn't mean there were no women warriors.

Remember we're talking about 500 BC. Not 2000 where everyone knows equality matters. This was before debates of equality. Even though Sparta had the most free women in the past.

Yeah, instead of arguing that you should throw away historical accuracy this time. I'm arguing that these people who care about historical accuracy should notice that Alexios isn't historically accurate as well. I gotta change up my arguments against them every now and then.

"There were no recorded instances" yet we have a book from a man that was born 400 years before the time of the game, and has a massive book and hundreds of stories about his workings as well as a couple billion followers.

History is fleeting at best. People only remember what they want. Why would a bunch of old rich men write about a woman being better than they are.

I agree that there were women warriors. But i'm trying to use a different arguement this time. On the last post like this i tried to argue against them using historical accuracy in a fantasy game.

But there's another post so i'm using another arguement.
Female warriors werent even that rare in mythology.
