Erymanthian Boar?

After attempting to fight the boar for an hour i am starting to get really frustrated. There is virtually 0 hitbox on the thing and arrows fly right thorough it. Ontop of that it is hitting me without even making contact with me. It will charge in the opposite direction from me and i will get hit. Anyone else having the same problem?

Never had a hitbox problem. I used spear to fight it. Dodge forward and attack to lunge. This allows you to keep your distance and attack when you choose.

It definitely has a huge hitbox problem, like all the boars.
I literally fired dozens of arrows at him that just shot through him.
Was also reported a lot by other users that the boars seem glitched with their hit boxes, especially with arrows.

Honestly, at the end just let him come at you, dodge at the last second to get the time slowdown, and that overcharge shoot him in the head with a skill shot.
Its doable that way but VERY annoying.

Spear and devastating shot + death arrows is what I used. Yes the hitbox is annoying, but once you get used to it, you can land headshots all day. A charged devastating shot will stagger it, which makes landing a follow up shot easier. I think you have to shoot a bit lower than its forehead for it to count as a headshot, It has been a while since I took it down so I really cant remember.

Edit: You can also use the Slow Time ability from the assassins tree, to slow its movement, should make landing shots a lot easier.

I had a 4 head bounty on me and 3 mercenaries ended up coming and killing the boar lol then I just mopped them up afterwards

Could it be that the hit ox got broken in the latest patch?
I don't recall having trouble shooting boars (specially Ery), but then again, I haven't hunted that many boars so I could be wrong

Thanks for all the tips, ended up just using a spear and developed a strat to dogge, hope this gets fixed in the next patch so other people dont have to deal with it.

Another tip : Use multi shot and Venom arrows for the smaller boars

I just use bow on it, using slow time plus bow should work well, if you don't have that skill perfect dodge gives save effect. Outside of that I just let it charge dove out the way and get arrow off as often as I could until it was dead.

I can not understand how this fight was ever thought to be a good idea?
Boars are already ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible and are not fun to fight.
Then you add the stupid lingering fart poison.
Then you add the useless hit box.

It is just moronic...

I had more trouble with the piggums it sends after you wave after wave. Their attack animations are incredibly hard to react to in time, although I think it's due to the rotund shape of their body making it hard to track their movements.

stay behind the boars. they cant attack you if you stay at thier hind area. keep dodging to stay at the back and hit him in the butt. Special attacks work well too.

They messed with the hitboxes in 1.03 so it's so stupidly small arrows in general will pass straight through the middle of a boar.
Your best bet is to either suck it up or go melee instead (or wait on a new patch to fix what they broke)
