I know you can select each photo icon on the map and hide that photo. But is there a way to toggle this feature off? So that new photos don't appear?

I know other people like seeing what complete strangers are taking pictures of in game, but I'm not one of them. I don't use the "photo mode" feature, and frankly, I'm not intetested in seeing what people I do not know are finding "photo worthy" in game. I haven't been able to find a "Photo Mode On/Off" toggle in options. Is there any way to turn this off?

I should clarify, I did find "Photo mode" on/off in Gameplay options, but this just stops ME from taking photos (which I did toggle off).I'm looking for the photo mode that puts other peoples photos on my map.

On map screen, you can cycle through what photos are shown. This will have to be done each game session.

They really should just have a gameplay option of turn on and off i really hate having to click those everytime you load the game

Exactly. Every time you load the game, you have to delete tons of icons just because Johnny Mouthbreather wants everyone to see 500 pictures of his horse in different locations. I'm not interested in OTHER peoples game play. I'm interested in the session I am playing.

Ubi... give us a full on/off switch. Let us hide those icons with one setting change, same way we can hide all other icons individually.

I don't understand why they included the option to pick and choose which elements are shown, yet force the most useless one of the lot on us with no "global" option.

Update:

Ok, apparently they did give us that option. I was looking in the game options, most logical place was HUD, never thought to check the map itself.

Lower right corner of map, there's a photos option. Clicking on it toggles it to show all photos, just your photos, friends photos, or NO photos.

We complained about this in Origins and nothing was done. We'll complain about it again in Odyssey and nothing will be done.

I'd love to have an option to disable pictures permanently, but Ubisoft likes it when Johnny Mouthbreather shoves his pictures down our throats.

Check my previous post. The option is on the map itself.

Looks like we need to fire up Origins again and check and see if that option isn't on the map itself in that game as well. :) lol

I know about that, but when you start the game again, the pics are back and you need to disable them yet again. Sometimes they'll even return during the same play session. I just want a way to permanently disable them.

Ok, that was a bust. I had hoped that setting the photos on the map to No Photos, and then going into options / Gameplay and toggling Photo Mode to Off, would lock that map change in and disable the photos on the map by default. No good. It seems even if you specifically tell the game you have no interest in Phot Mode, they STILL want you to look at Johnny Mouthbreathers slide show of stupidity.

I know this is an old thread, but I found it when I ran into the same problem. I couldn't agree with you guys more. Having to F3 every time I start the game to turn off those ridiculous screenshot photos is a pain in the a**.
Since I didn't find a solution I firewalled the exe. There, try shoving em down my throat now a-holes. I'm pretty sure this will also disable cloud saving and that sux, but it's still worth it to get rid of those icons permanently.

I'm kind of curious, does firewall blocking the .exe also disable the dailies? I was gonna test this but I haven't had the time.

Yes i really hope this feature can be turned compltely off in future AC games.
I dont care about people i dont knows screen shots.
