Which Faction did you pick?

Which faction did you leaned towards if you have to pick one?

The Spartans or The Athenians?
I mean if it would also change the future (our timeline) would your choice make a difference from what Greece is currently? Or will it all be the same futile outcome?

You cant really choose a side. You can do only missions for one faction if you want but you will miss out on a lot of content.
You are just a mercenary, the 2 factions dont care about your "support". They hire you for a single battle and that is that.
Regions even flip on their own back and forth when you dont do anything.
You cant influence the war at all, at maximum you flip one region for a short time.

History will still take its course.

I support Athens but it matters not since they attack you went you go into their camp anyway.

They're all scum. I just want the drachmae and I don't care what Socrates thinks. After a few conversations with him it became clear why he was forced to kill himself.

I do things based off a sort of 'Mental' contract. So as of now, I mainly side with Athens, however if I need to go to a Athenian fort for leather or something, I use my fists and beat everyone up without killing, nor burning supplies. Just a good ol' ass whooping.

Still, I tend to favor Athens a little bit as they didnt throw me away from a mountain ;D

I support whoevers paying me the most. Be it Drachmae, experience, other shinies. Sometimes I just kill things for fun in these cases, I kill both factions! I am the god of war, Kratos better move over.

i still wipe out everything on the maps but when it comes down to the war i back sparta
even when sparta already holds the area

im going under the non spoiled assumption that at the end of the game there would be a ng+ with the choice to play as the other character and if so, ill back the other side

yeah it sadly doesnt matter at all. Athenians gave me a quest to kill Spartan generals. i destroy them and several soldiers, an athenian patrol comes in and attacks me while im fighting spartans???

It would be nice to have favor from the faction you support more. Like helping you on the streets, and allowing you to freely walk in their camps. Right now, I just slay either side to provoke a battle.

if we would be able to really side with a faction then i would side with Sparta. I kind of help sparta more then athen regardell, i do conquest battles on the side of the defenders when sparta is the defender. :)

i still do quests where i have to kill spartans though.

Kicking an enemy leader into my ship = certain death.

You see like all the npc on your ship just slice em apart xD.

How do you choose a different side. The first faction you meet is the Spartans. Your mission is to talk to your father. I don't see how the game gives you any choice.
