If I use a legendary engraving on my off-hand weapon, does I still get the benefit?

I believe the only engravings that do not work are the weapon damage becomes fire/poison damage ones. Those are specifically tied to a weapon, tried it last night and it didn't work so I know those engravings do not activate in the off hand.

All the other one's I've tried have though, at least the ones you can see the numbers on. Like I know fire damage will work because I've seen my fire damage go up when I engrave the offhand with it.
