Any other 'completionists' out there ?
So I'm 200 hours in. Cultists are dead and it would seem that, apart from visiting Korfu, I've finished the main storyline. The only 'big' things left to do are to visit Korfu and then tackle the dlc's. No rush. I started Korfu but left to go explore instead.

A close look at the map shows me that even after 200 hours I still have tons and tons of question marks and available quests scattered all over the place. (Not even considering all the random quests etc.) There are even some islands I haven't been to yet. I honestly think that there's probably another 150-200 hours of playtime left just exploring and clearing every cave, camp, fort, leader's house, shipwreck etc etc.

Has anyone else suffered this level of OCD ? The completionist in me needs to clear everything, so that when I move onto Origins or Valhalla I won't have this nagging feeling of 'unfulfillment'. I note that Steam says only a small percentage of players kill all the cultists, for example. Which amazes me............. unless you do that you have not finished the story. I mean c'mon - this game isn't exactly Elden Ring in terms of difficulty.

EDIT : gleaned from the interwebs : "Completionists are in for a big commitment with this title. From taking out all the mercenaries to wiping out all of the military camps, doing and experiencing everything AC Odyssey has to offer will take 136 hours or so."

Are these people on amphetamines ? I spent more than that just doing the main quest, albeit with an assortment of side quests. I estimate at bare minimum 100+ hours more to 'scrub' the maps.

You travel only by foot? Its weird to have all that stuff open after 200 hours

I can definitely relate to your urge to complete everything. I have over 1000 hrs on record for this game. Completed it 5 times I think. Each time completed all main and side quests, DLCs, question marks, etc.

Mind you though, I do literally have moderate-severe OCD in real life, so for me personally, clearing the question marks actually feels very satisfying, like the feeling when you scratch an itchy spot on your body. The overwhelming amount of fetch quests do get pretty repetitive though.

200 hours but still have heaps of content left is probably on the slower end. But this is an open world SP game so I don't think you need to think about the hours too much. Slow paced mucking around and exploration is totally fine.

BTW, the Korfu questline wouldn't make much sense until you complete the Atlantis DLC. It also contains spoilers for the Atlantis DLC. So it's probably wise if you put it off for now.

Foot is the only way to go. First off you get more resources. Also I've killed my horse more times than I like. He can't fly off cliffs like me.

At first I did a LOT of random/fetch quests so that definitely took time. I also levelled incredibly fast up until 40 so maybe that was why.

Thanks for the tip about Korfu - good to know. I was under the impression that it didn't matter. I'll put it off then.

Couldnt care less. Uninstalled it yesterday. An endless grind, with endless fetch quests (although Sokrates was fun, you actually have to thiink before you go on a rampage). Doing all the "lost tales of Greece" for a stupid trophy after each 5-6 fetch quests, and a "legendary" you never will use. Btw, you can fine bump up the difficulty. Just make all enemies level up when you level up. The most stupid thing I did was bumping up the ship to 2nd tier. Wasting time to clear out forts, to sell everything, to buy ♥♥♥♥ to level up the ship. And again you need it if you want to survive the most extreme battleships you meet. But clearing out every place for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sword? No way. I used the easy method. Turning of everything that didnt interest me. Anyway, when yuo reach the "master level", nothing really matters. The only thing I am obsessed with, is finding the syncronize points, to get from A to B without using 5 minutes

There is a Phobos with purple wings. It was released free awhile ago. Wont be able to actually fly but will never fall to its death. You can glide down a cliff and not have to worry about killing horse.

I have also done everything on the map and completed everything. I had maybe 75% of map cleared before the 5th mission probably. I dont like ? either! :steammocking:

Fast travel. I use it a ton. Going somewhere new is invariably done on foot as otherwise you miss 90% of everything.

I just don't enjoy riding the horse in this game, tbh. For me, traipsing around the woods and climbing up rock faces and exploring caves is half the fun. The only time I really needed to get on a horse was to chase down a merc I wanted to murder. Ummm.......... talk to.

Im on a completionist run also. Just finished Valhalla and Origins. I completed Odyssey on PS4 but i want do to do it again on pc. I dont use fast travel. When i feel that im starting to rush instead of exploring and enjoying the scenery i just take a break and come back after a few hours. I think it will take around 400-500 hours.

You sound like me and the way I play.

How did you find Valhalla as compared to Odyssey ? That'll probably be my next one, way off in the future.

Gameplay is more polished as should be expected from a newer game. I enjoyed the new skill tree. Side quests don’t flood your quest log anymore.

The map is more a personal taste. England is of course a much darker place than Egypt and Greece.

I did enjoy it alot but it’s a third place with with odyssey and origins on top

Just use x10 movement. i do this with CheatEngine and it's sooooo convenient.
