Battlecry of Ares reset

Supposedly, my Northern Traveller set is supposed to allow that ability to reset after I kill two opponents. Doesn't seem to work at all. Does anyone know if there's a specific time limit involved ? i.e. do I have to kill them within 15 or 20 or 30 seconds ?

hmmm no, it doesn't say "reset after 2 kills"
it reads: "-50% Cooldown Duration for Battlecry of Ares Ability on Kill"

The way I read it "while Battlecry of Ares ability is active, if I kill 1 or 20, I get -50% cooldown"

Yeah but there were a number of youtube vids screeching about how overpowered the set was for just the reason I stated. I literally watched the ability reset for them again and again after two successive kills. I think maybe they nerfed it in a patch after the fact ?

You could read the "on kill" part and surmise that 2 kills would give you 50%+50% = 100% !!

Edit : in a followup 2021 video he says that "the glitch is still working".

Oh......... I guess maybe it WAS an Ubi fumble all along. That would've been game breaking for sure.

Yeah you right, sounds like it was a glitch.

Will give it a try again, that set is one of my favorites and you get it for free, is crazy good (even without that glitch)

Agree - overall it's my favorite. I can't even remember who I wound up with it - I guess it came with the game when I originally bought it almost a year ago ?

Hey, kind of old thread. I think the glitch is still there (or by design?).

I just built a lvl 71 with this set, and I tried it on Conquest Battles, and I noticed the battlecry of Ares resets very, very fast, but I think the trick is to get 2 kills once the ability has worn off. Which you could potentially get with a ring of Chaos.

That's how I killed Medusa so easy; activated Battlecry of Ares, one Overpowered attack, go behind a column (while she has a shield) , ability wears off, I kill 2 minions, I can turn on ability again, a second Overpowered attack and that was it.

And yeah, I don't know how I got it, it was a free gift at some point I think, it showed up along with Ezio's set.

Yes, glitch is still working. You need to kill 2 guys after battlecry of ares/ares madness is no longer active.
Just activate ring of chaos and you have more than 2 kills ;) You can do it all the time, just repeat spamming ares madness and ring of chaos.

Ohhhhhh..... I thought that you had to get the kills while it was active. Hmmm maybe I'll take another look. Frankly at this point in my 'career', Ring of Chaos is all I need to trash most opponents. Turn on the fire, RoC, watch'em burn.

That set combined with some engravings like "+100% all Damages but -100% resistances" and "+100% damage but health capped to 25%" makes it for some crazy killing machine lol

I have an engraving that does just -resistance. Obviously I never use it... Tooltip error ? It makes no sense.

Yes, such combination with those engravings is just insane. I had to remove the "+100% all Damages but -100% resistances" from my builds for conquest battles, because I wanted to keep the mercenary alive as long as possible.

Haha, yes, And what about +500% damage when covered with black oil? Totally useless. I think it's not an error, they are just trolling us! :)
