From the store page
Requires 3rd-Party Account: Ubisoft Account (Supports Linking to Steam Account)

If you are going to ignore, maybe you want to ignore all Ubisoft/Rockstar/EA/Other giant titles

https://store.steampowered.com/publisher/ubisoft
hit the cog wheel on the right side
hit "Ignore this creator"

I think it's not worth buying any Ubisoft products that go through the 3rd party account. It's not worth the problems they have given me over the years.

i had serious problems with my ubisoft account so if i have to get an account to play this game i wont play it their customer service sucks
I never got a problem with any online account probably because I set a unique password everywhere, enable 2fa, and store the accounts in KeePass.

If you need a customer service for managing an online account, this is much your inability of keeping an account in a good standing that sucks, rather than the service itself.

One day someone will break that one Keep ass password and then you will need to get support well forget Ubisoft all your software will be gone. There is always one that never had an issue and gets a million FPS in any game and no no lag. One day!!!!!!

legally own only 1 game (ACOd), there're 2-3 times their server down or the new Ubisoft Connect being crappy which stop/ delay my play.

i'm fascinated how ubisoft love to punish legit customers with this uplay junkware and denuvo.

They have to to ensure that all versions of the game are and offer the same. Ubisoft connect is needed for the ubisoft clup integration. Without the ubisoft clup the steam version would miss items and stuff like weekly challenges for example.

Intriguing. I have been playing multiple games (Far Cry 5, Far Cry: New Dawn and AC: Origins) from Ubisoft Connect directly last year and had 0 issues.

Now I do have problems with Odyssey, but the culprit (AMD driver) is somewhere else...

they didn't use to have Connect right? were there no weekly challenges before that?
it even messes up Origins' ACP if i understand correctly.
couldn't other games which released on multi stores (Steam + Epic) also offer similar function without Ubi Connect?

if you search "Ubisoft Connect crash", you'll see quite a lot of results

Almost every ubisoft game requires it to be locked to your ubi account.

They did, it used to be called uplay though. They updated uplay and renamed it to connect.

Hello rubyismycat,

Thanks for reaching out!

All of our games require Ubisoft Account and access to the Ubisoft Connect application in order to verify your game's license.

I hope it clarifies the situation and if you have any additional questions, please let us know.
