I got a legendary sword by defeating someone when i was level 10 since then i am just upgrading my sword and now i am on level 36.

Depends on your build. There is no universal "Best sword".

In the early goings, just scramble around find what seems to work best. Easily findeable items include the Snake set, Artemis set and Agamemnon set.

But later in the game you will begin to find the much more lethal swords. For a warrior it will be an epic sword with the following engravings: Warrior Damage, Damage with Swords, and Crit Damage. It is the same scheme with assassins and hunters. Assassin Damage, Damage with Swords, Crit Damage, etc. Ditto for daggers, Spears and the rest.

Engrave the left hand sword with Weapon damage becomes Fire damage. Engrave the right sword with Armor penetration.

If the rest of your gear is up to snuff, you will be doing damage in the millions.

I like the sword of yumminess (in NG+) and playing like a normal game without abilities. It's quite fun.

Either Chrysaor or Blade of the Ephemeral. Both are helix shop items which you can get for free if you look.
