SPOILER - About Stentor, did you know this?
So I reached the point where I could choose Nikolaos to intervene or to tell him to go and leave Stentor alone. So I thought screw it, let me choose the latter and see what happens. Anyway, at some point after defeating Athens in Boeotia Stentor decides to fight me.

The moment I killed Stentor, I got this following Cultist clue:

"Stentor,
Your work in Megaris has not gone unseen. For your final task, bring us victory in Boeotia - a task even the Wolf himself could not achieve. Then you will have earned your place among us as a Redblood. You are close. Do not waver. The true blood runs red.

P."

SO STENTOR ASPIRED TO BECOME A CULTIST? WHAT THE ACTUAL F.

Now the "good" ending does make even less sense. So he's basically a Cultist-wannabe?!?!

Edit: during the fight with Stentor, he actually makes remarks about "destroying your bloodline". And Stentor also taunts the main player in the conversation before the fight about him/her being thrown off a cliff as a child. How does he know that in the first place? I don't recall ever telling him that. All these hint to Stentor being a cultist-wannabe imo. Am I the only one interpreting it this way?

Did it give the standard cultist clue inventory pop-up and a new exclamation mark on the cult page?

Yes it did. It revealed that Pausanias is a cultist. The cultist clue is called "Letter to Stentor".

I figured the best revenge I can get for what Nikolaos has done is letting him live, and make sure I kill his dearest son (Stentor). Now he will have to live with Stentor's death. This is even better revenge than killing him honestly.

Apparently it's an alternative way to get Lagos' clue. But yeah I guess the main character catches him in time...

Or perhaps he get an order from someone he has to obey and impress without even knowing anything about the cult a king of Sparta, for example

Hard to know and subject to interpretation
I didnt killed him anyway

I didn't kill anyone of family and now Stentor serves me on my ship, mwa-ha-ha.

I think some other people mentioned they knew what happend that day, both children of Nikolaos being thrown from the mountain. So it's not a big secret.

You are missing an important part. Yes, it's true he knew children of Nikolaos were thrown from the mountain. But what he did not know was those children were in fact Alexios and Kassandra. Because when you meet him for the first time and decide to tell him you're Nikolaos's son he mocks you and simply doesn't believe you. In my playthrough I didn't even try to mention I'm Nikolaos's son, I just kept this information to myself. So for me this is even more puzzling.

Well, that cultist clue means that at least Cult told him about your true identity. Otherwise he wouldn't known who to kill for "the true blood runs red".

Late but yea, as I always gone for the best endings I for some reason decided to kill The Wolf in Megaris and therefor had no other choice but to kill Stentor.

However, the letter doesnt prove Stentor is a cultist. Just that they were basically preparing him, or possibly make him part of the cult. So in the end I guess that makes him a cultist. I was happily surprised to find this out, felt alot better to end Stentors life knowing he was a damn cultist.
