Honestly nothing god has intended actually came to fruition.
His biggest mistaking was trusting mankind wasn’t going to deliberately misconstrue his words to shift it to their own benefit.
Nothing that is said by organized religion should be trusted.
Catholics set that standard.
And what are you saying is a crime? Bi Sexuality? If so go read almost ANY Greek works and you'll see just how many people were getting it on with the same gender.
Even Archilles was said to have been in sexual relations with another male.
Just stop trying to argue with us about your propaganda, you won't win the argument, you're fighting against history.
You're pathetic, bub, pathetic that you're so easily pulled off a homophobic card when I'm pretty much neutral with anyone preferred orientation. Tell me which of my statements insult the gays, QUOTE it, because there is none, maybe think with your brain, not your emotional heart.
I said ADULTERY is a CRIME back then, not the preferred sexual ORIENTATION dumbass, I don't even say anything about sexual preference. STRAIGHT or GAY, someone, like a blacksmith who has probably already acquired a CITIZENSHIP as he already owned a land and a wall to live, asking a complete stranger (me in my playthru a Kassandra, a woman) to have sex after being rejected 3 times and then still kinda force it is already a sexual harassment, which is morally disabled behavior, it is obvious that there is something wrong with his head if he can only think about sex when he has just met someone the first time (probably he's a predator).
That's true, but it's out of context with my reply as I don't put anything about sexual preference/gender, why are you making things up with my reply? Again, although it is still unclear and debatable, sexual seduction and wishful-thought can also be considered an adultery and punishable crime during that time in history. You should NOT commit adultery with your fellow legit Greek citizen (free pass if committed on a slave or non-citizen) as it is a more heinous crime than R- APE compared to today. The family is very important in the ancient Greece world, marriage is also a sacred. Even in Sparta, which is less strict on that kind of thing, according to Lycurgus, the unmarried man can ask the married man for his wife to bear his children if you, as the husband, cannot give her and your family an heir (and healthy heir is very important for them as their population was declining), but ONLY with the CONSENT of BOTH husband and wife, they can still freely refuse the request/"help".. there are likely to be consequences for the people who violated that, the adulterer.
I think most people that played this game knows that it is common, even this OP as he's more like a troll.
Heterosexual sexual preference is also common as well as bi, and sometimes was considered an eccentric trait. So yes, unless Ubisoft has made it clear, forcing your opinion that the character is bisexual is stupid, and disrespectful to anyone who wants their character to be gay/lesbian or straight.
Maybe read things sometimes and fully, not just nitpicking things that fit your own view for your own propaganda.
You do realise that rapists don't care if their victims are attracted to them, right?
You are the one doing Propaganda and you do not notice it :) u
Bisexual and homosexual is a TRUE thing for mankind and it has always been so.
HOWEVER, the % of people who want to do bisexual and homosexual things is always low compared to everyone. And this just has to be so because otherwise the human species would not reproduce fast enough to grow has it has been shown to do. This would need to be even more true in the past because without medicine, the rates of infant mortality were atrocious. So if everyone was gay or bisexual the human species would simply die in ancient world.
IN REALITY, ♥♥♥♥ and bisexual were always seen as out of the normal. It is however TRUE that classical authors liked to write about it. It is even quite POSSIBLE that some major classical authors were themselves gay or bi. HOWEVER you need to be very careful about what and why they write about other people.
Example:
Achilles was in a feud with his liege lord. His shenanigans with his cousin may or may not have been placed there to attack his character and morals. If you notice, there are other instances in the story where Achilles is not exactly the moral hero. In fact, Achilles is always described as very morally flawed. So why do you conclude the hints to bisexuality are there to show him as an example? They could well be there to put shame on him. You do not know what the author intended with it.
In fact, the whole moral of the Trojan war was that Helen was wrong for going out of her marriage and going on with another guy. A bunch of kings agreed that a whole city state and their allies should burn because....adultery. So...there is your moral of the time for you if you are paying attention.
Another example:
Alexander is another very good example.
You are always reading from people who pretty much wished to undo Alexander´s empire. It is very obvious the ones who won did not want any possible heir to claim the empire. It is also obvious the ones who won had some jealousy about Hephaestion because he was the one Alexander trusted the most (were they murdered? that is a question for the ages). So, again, you need to be very aware. Whatever is said about Alexander may or may not be there to try and undermine any possible heir. Or simply to try and somewhat justify what others did to remove him if it ever was to be found. You should also notice that it was quite a political issue that Alexander did not marry a noble macedonian girl. A lot of people were absolutely furious with it. Notice how Roxanne is described as being a nonsense marriage without any possible political objectives. They got mad with it!!! Its very obvious!!! Now....we do not know if there was indeed some political objective on Alexander mind or if he married for love. But we do know and its easy to read that everyone on the elites got mad with his marriage and wanted to get rid of it. Roxanne vanished history very fast after Alexander (again, was she murdered?).
History is complex!!!!
A LOT!!!!
There is always propaganda on all sides!!!!!!
But bottom line is, Most humans are hetero just by the species logic. Its how we reproduce and grow our numbers. That much is human biology and nature. Its very well known and documented FACT.
Don't feed them.
That's not entirely true. Homosexual behavior is not all that uncommon among many animals, our closest relatives in the great apes family included. And just to be clear, homosexual behavior does not imply exclusively homosexual individuals, but rather what you might call bisexuality if you have to put a label on the individuals sexuality in general. In terms of evolutionary advantages, you could argue that a genetic exclusive homosexuality is suicidal on an individual basis since it obviously poses some difficulties in reproduction, but when you take into account the survival of the group which shares much of the same genetics, it's not quite so clear cut. Either way, there are some significant advantages where bisexuality is concerned. You're not prevented from reproducing, and it's theorized that in social animals it helps reduce aggression. It's certainly far less dangerous than fighting, and seems to produce a surprisingly similar effect. In evolutionary terms, not getting killed by a rival is a good thing, whereas having recreational sex may not in itself provide any evolutionary benefits, but is still a pretty okay way to spend an afternoon.
Human sexuality seems to be more based on social norms than biology, or at least biology in terms of what directly relates to sexuality. The desire to fit into your group certainly is rooted in biology, and it's quite a strong instinct at that. What is considered normal or not changes quite dramatically over time, although I doubt the underlying desire has changed much. Adultery is certainly frowned upon these days, but it wasn't that long ago when you could get killed over it, and indeed, still can in certain places of the world (in particular if you're a woman). But hey, guess what, people still did it.
As for the ancient Greeks and their views of homosexuality in particular, the simple answer is that we don't know. The problem with historical documentation is that generally speaking, the day-to-day life was not particularly interesting to write down because everyone lived through it. What got written down were the big events, the life and death of kings, the great inventors and artists, war (that's a big one). Daily life? Not so much. When you're taught history in school, are you taught when and how WW2 started, or what the life of the average worker in 1930's Germany looked like? I'm going to guess the former, and that was less than a century ago. The time of AC: Odyssey is 2400 years ago, and the further back in history we go, the less is preserved and even the big events become questionable. There are entire battles that we don't know how, when, where or even if they happened. People still think medieval girls were married at 13 to 50 year old guys, but they weren't. Nobles sometimes were, when marriage was a political tool, but commoners were pretty much early 20s or so, with the man generally being a bit older. What we do know about life in both the medieval period and in ancient Greece is biased towards the upper classes where the people were rich and important enough to be remembered. Social norms in those groups were not necessarily, and quite probably not, representative of the population in general. Again, we don't really know. My guess is that homosexuality was probably not as common as some people seem to think, at least not among the lower classes, but at the same time, it probably wasn't nearly as bad as when Christianity decided to get involved (and still haven't quite gotten over to this day).
Anyway, my own opinion about all this is simply this: what the ♥♥♥♥ do I care who you decide to play hide-the-salami with? Although I guess a better question would be: why the ♥♥♥♥ do you?
