Uplay asks for a CD Key

Seems it didn't activate for me like ubi games usually do and connect the accounts immediately. I've no idea where the cd key can be viewed.

But you can view your Cd key by right click on your game in steam library

Yeah that's what I thought but it still wants me to give it a key. Also the game doesn't do anything originally, it's only when I change the exe to run as administrator I get that far.

Also Steam key will not work in Uplay !

It activates through UPlay Connect. Should be automatic.

Yeah I know it should be because I've installed plent of uplay games through steam but this time for some reason they want a key.

thats strange, that did not happen to me. It just logged into uplay and showed me what will get connected to my uplay accound with the posibillity to close or accept it as it usually does when you start a uplay game the first time after installation.

Never mind I fixed it. Re-installing uplay did the trick. If anyone else has this problem, try that

Hello friend, the same happened to me. First the game didn't open when I clicked the play button. I changed the game's exe to execute as admin too for it to reach at Uplay screen that asked me for a CD key.

To solve it, I did this: disabled execute as admin for the exe, open Uplay from the start menu icon, and keep it open. Then click on Steam play button and the confirmation popup from Uplay should appear.

Steam has problems opening Uplay if the game's exe isn't executed as admin, at least in some systems. This happened to me with the other games of the AC franchise. But it seems that opening the exe as admin also generate problems with the communication between Steam and Uplay in activations.

Dude, you are a hero. I was encountering the same problem. Bought AC Odyssey from steam with "Uplay Activation", yet when I launched the game, Uplay kept asking for an Activation Code. But when I uncheck "Run as administration" for the game, and relaunch it, it works!
