AC Valhalla Sex change
Using Norse magic you can undergo some sort of cosmetic surgery to change your sex at any point in the game!

Yes. I believe it was that one god-dess that was written out of existence because oppression. Thodina, God-dess of Transition.
I thought that must've been a parody when I first saw it. Seriously though, they need to skip MD altogether. Can't put up with Layla, inside or outside the Animus.

no need for magic, people seem to forget that we still are talking about assassins creed here. you are not playing a person in the past, you are playing a modern day person who uses the animus to experience a simulation of the past based on rememberings of the ancestors of the person the dna sample is from stored in said dna.

as we saw with assassins creed 3 dlcs and certain items in other ac games this simulation can be manipulated to add things or to create whole alternate history scenarios.

so i think a sex change of the character is well within the possibilities of manipulating the simulation.

can you explain how ? i didnt understand properly.
Come on. I agree with complaining about game companies sometimes pandering to sjw, but complaining about being able to change the sex of the protagonist in a videogame is just ridiculous.

You sound exactly how SJW say "entitled gamers" talk.
It's a game.

I'm currently playing AC Odyssey and am glad I chose to play as Kassandra as her brothers voice is just irritating. I'd be pretty annoyed if I'd picked him and 20hrs into the game had to restart because I couldn't put up with his voice.
Too bad you can't use this as a way to throw off the enemies, especially if you're in the process of being stalked by them.

"We've got you now, girl! OH ♥♥♥♥ WHAT IS THAT, NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

And the enemy runs away, screaming.

Even given the unlikelihood of it being remotely possible, I can see all kinds of ways in which changing one's gender at will could be used to high advantage. As an assassin, anything that gives one an edge is a plus.

Go into a tent as a woman, distracting them, slit their throats, change to a male, leave with none the wiser. All good.

Only problem I could see is dealing with clothing afterwards, unless that can change to match the gender as well. What fits a man well would likely be very uncomfortable for a woman, and vice versa.

Doesn't every guy just picks a woman to play with. If you're gonna spend 100+ hours staring at someone behind, might aswell make it a pretty sight *shrug*

Honestly, if that's true, that is pretty ridiculous. I hope the feature won't make it into the game, because it's just extremely un-immersive, especially if the NPCs don't react to it at all (which you know they won't).

Either way, I guess it won't matter, since I won't be playing the game for a while because of the Epic exclusivity.

There is no real reason. The only reason Odyssey has a choice between sex is because the DNA was apparently "tangled up", and couldn't get a real "lock" on which one is the real one. And even then, books have confirmed that it's Kassandra.

I really don't know how they will repeat the same "gimmick" again, especially considering that the fact the sex could be picked at the start was actually a part of the story, with you basically picking between brother and sister. It seems that the same isn't the case for Valhalla, so I am honestly really interested in knowing how they will end up pulling it off, especially if you can switch whenever you want in-game. Knowing Ubisoft, it's going to be a cop-out simulation thing, an even worse explanation than the decision in Odyssey (which actually wasn't half bad).
bruh, just have ppl chose whatever gender and have the story write the same, it's not like it would have that big of an impact
you guys are making it seem like such a big issue when it's just a gender

The issue isn't the gender, it's how they will actually write that into the lore/universe.
Why is this in the Odyssey forum?
