I suggests everytime you visit blacksmith, buy all materials from him and sell most of your equipments instead dismantling them.
I know nothing about the mercs bonus.. I'm one tier before the last tier.. S something, have been taking all the bonus for granted, so didn't really notice the difference.
anyway while i dont know if you need the upgrades for the stats i personally think the ship looks very good full upgraded since with the new upgrades new visual changes to the ship were introduced as well.
Sheesh. not sure why its so expensive for you, my level 10 upgrades cost about 200k each
Also should I sell the Minoan artefact?
Wood? That's the one resource where I have some ungodly stockpile (over 40K wood now, IIRC; whereas I don't know if I've ever had more than 8K iron at a time).
I do disassemble all the common and rare equipment I get (the epic-tier items get sold unless they have a specific set of traits I'm looking for, and I tend to get a lot of bows for some reason), and I do tend to go after pirate ships if I see them while sailing.
That said, when I do have piles of drachmae, I spend it at Hephaesto's workhop to learn better engravings rather than the final tier of ship upgrades. It costs something like 450K drachmae to learn tiers 6-10 of any one engraving type, IIRC, even with the mercenary tier discount.
Not meaning this to sound bad, but how can you find wood scarce, there is wood everywhere to pick up lol.
Exploring and doing everything as you go.
Resources like
Iron leather and tablets come to you so often you never run out.
The only issue is
Money and olive wood
I’ve been aquiring money by selling common gear
And as for olive wood I just buy it when I can from black smiths.
Alternatively you can also raid nation chests and supply’s for a fair amount of olive wood.
So with that in mind, I have well over a million drachmae, more than enough to do all of the legendary ship upgrades, but I'm constantly running out of gems.
