Also, having a tamed animal makes me follow roads and flat lands since they will insta-die from small heights falls.
Edit : Also I would like to have Alpha Lynx in that game.
In the 280 or so hours I've played, I think I've only bothered to have a tamed animal for less than an hour total. Felt too much of a hassle.
That's because you've never realized how you may actually skip the work completely because a good bear can do all the killing.
Of course, it would be wonderful if you could use the skill to tame Phoibe: "That's a good girl, swim back to wherever Markos is, that's a good little pest, now bugger off."
Seems like you need to invest three ability points (to tame bears) and an engraving slot (for the +health/damage to tamed animals).... and maybe hunt for an alpha to tame? I know that at least ordinary lions don't survive for very long at all when released in the middle of a camp, let alone a nation fort. That might be related to the enemy archers/crit build bug, though.
