The gold box quests dont
this.
Their purpose is to give you XP and gold but after awhile you really won't need to do them.
I guess another purpose of them could be to take you to undiscovered locations of the map but this benefit is moot is you're the type that pursues ?s on your own.
Would have probably been better to have an option to spawn those quests (hourglass mark, scales mark or the other 1 or 2). I mean Billboards is fine you can select them yourself and there also not in sight.
-kill athenian/spartan soldiers/brutes/leaders/strategoi/ships etc.
-Plunder national treasures
-burn supply crates
Since my getting rich schemes is raiding forts, accumulating some of those quests result in multiple quests done by the same action. Leveling up while doing a fort is quite common this way.
Note that war contracts are the same throughout the region. You pick on per-region basis, and there's no need to try several boards on the same region.
I have a standard "route" I do from region to region, over the same convenient teleporting spots, hoarding these. There's no problem to include regions that are beyond my skill level, because I only pick the quests and move on, and the raid itself is done in a region that is on my level.
