Atlantis Ending - questions - Spoilers
I have finished Atlantis quest line and I have to ask about story here.

Spoilers

So staff keepsPythagoras alive. And it keeps alive then Kassandra. Does they really need to hold it all the time? How can they do anything? Eat, sleep, using toilet, bath, cook, change clothes? One bad move and they are dead. And to hold it in hand for hundreds years – that must have drive them insane.
And if Kassandra lived till modern times, what does she do? It is out of her character that she just sits in cave and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait. If she will new about Templars and Assassins, surely she will do something. Offer help. Not just to them, it was in her nature to help others and there were world wars and other events in which she could help.
She has modern cloths and understood Layla, so she has to leave cave and be outside. Why she stopped care about humanity?
And when she was outside, did she still hold this staff in here hand? Wouldn´t it be suspicious to other people?
And why she wanted to seal it in first place? She haven´t any clue what is inside, just Pythagoras word that it is dangerous. She fought with Gorgon, Cyclops, Minotaur and meet Sphinx. She can´t knew that there aren´t any other mystical creatures or even something worse. So in Atlantis could be weapons, or knowledge that could help her to protect humanity. Not everyone is idiotic like 1,000,000 stories told us that “humanity is not ready”.

Will we ever see Atlantis itself?
Does this mean that we finally see some main story in next AC, when we know that Layla is chosen one?

This ending only brings unanswered questions. And many answers that are logical contradict each other.

My expanation for the staff power is that it works by contact

No need to hold it at all time, allowing for normal activities and errands outside
Still, probably need to be in proximity

But if someone else touches it (perhaps also needs the owner to have his hands on it too), then, the power is transmitted to a new owner

So, a somewhat normal life is possible, just with a very increased longevity and making sure no one else can touch the staff

What she did...who knows....
But living for 2500 years can probably make someone very wise, with a huge understanding of how things work

Sealing Atlantis makes sense

Pythagorus is quite sage and your father...and he has studied the thing for 100 years...quite the expert ...so you can trust his words
If he says seal it, he probably has some good reasons

Plus, perhaps it was also a test....
Dont seal, you dont pass the test, he wont transmit the staff to you...
Have a happy normal short life...bye

Im like him, i dont trust humanity at all as a whole
Not everyone is rotten for sure...but it takes only one guy to doom everyone else

I know that if i put my hands on something that is incredibly powerful and very advanced, i would have only 2 choices

Keep it an absolute secret, never ever speak about it to anyone, and uses it for my own benefits...and hope someone else doesnt discover it or steal it from me
And i know it could also lead to mass suffering, im not exempt of power corruption either...

Destroy or seal it

Otherwise, be sure that some sort of government or guy in power will hear about it and try to take it...for your own good or for national security...you know....
...and also because these people hate when one of their peons is more powerful than them

People in power are by definition striving for power...they arent there by hazard
Once they have their hands on a super powerful tool...guess what can happen...
Be sure it is not the better...

Your explanation with staff makes sense.

But that she is wise so she don´t care? OK, maybe after 2500 you simply don´t care anymore. But at least first 1000 years you will not change your personality just by blinking an eye. If you care then you care. Changing is long process so after few centuries maybe, but sooner she would surely intervene. Watching other suffers and be able to help them and do nothing make you bad. Not as bad as if you hurt them directly, but surely it doesn´t make you good person.

Why would you believe Pythagoras? He abandoned you. He shows no emotion about anything. He treats you like livestock (we make you with your mother so you can fulfill your duty), he doesn´t care (I leave your mother; I know she would make emotional attachments). You never before saw him, so there is absolutely no reason to believe this strange man who lives alone in volcanic cave.
You yourself said that “he probably has some good reasons”. But you don´t know them. You believe him just because he is Pythagoras.
And if it was test it doesn´t matter. You can convince him at the end to give you his stuff, or you can kill him and take it. So if you fail in his test, you can kill him and take his stuff. Or lie that you will seal it and after he is dead make your decision. He never treats you like his child. Not even once. Not even like a human being. He is like strange, crazy hermit who is more suspicious than trustworthy.

No, it doesn´t make sense.
I always use as example rock. Nobody invented it. Rock simply is. Our planet is full of rocks. And you can kill with rock. Does it mean we should destroy all rocks?
Or imagine that world is after some apocalypse. People live again like in antic time. And they will discover well-preserved library. There are cures for illnesses, methods of agriculture and livestock treatment, how to build power plant, grain processing, food preserving, etc. But also plans for nuclear weapons and other nasty stuffs. For them it will be same as Isu knowledge for us. Should they seal it forever?
It was stupid like in TV show “Warehouse 13”. Yes, some artifacts have also their dark side. But everything has dark side. If you are sick doctor gave you medicine. If you eat whole medicine at once, you could die. If you eat it as was instructed, it will heal you. Too much vitamins could killed you. Every good thing has dark side.
So I hate it in almost every sci-fi and fantasy movie, book, or game. They discover something incredible and they seal it, or in worse case destroy it because “we are not ready”. When we will be ready? When our planet wouldn´t be able to feed us all? When sun will stop giving warm?

I am with you if it was time travel. Not to go back and change future without knowing consequences. But if you have some powerful object right here and right now, you should use it. Imagine all that happened in past. Wars, plagues, earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunami, dictatorship genocides, famines, etc.
Imagine that there is plague and millions of people dying around you. You have powerful object and you will let them die just because you are afraid that someone will misused such object? It is selfish and simply bad.

You are absolutely right that people could abuse power and powerful tools. But if we were afraid of this, there couldn´t be any progress. Electricity to save lives vs electric chair, rifles to hunt animals vs rifles to kill people, cars to transport vs hit and run, etc, etc.
Yes, people are able to abuse everything, even democracy and liberal values as we can see in past years. They abuse medical studies, charity organizations, disaster funds, anything. But it only means that we have to improve our guard, have better tools and forces to control and enforce law.
Not to stuck our heads into sand and hoping that problems will somehow solve themselves.
Ficelle Nov 19, 2018 @ 4:28am
Atlantis isnt some tool a bit in advance in his time, something which would be discovered in a decade or 2

More like something 1000+ years in advance, something that shouldnt be there...
It isnt really progress here, more like a gigantic jump in time

We dont really know what it is anyway, just that it is way too advanced for his time, aka magic in a way...and dangerous

Kassandra is also quite simple and uninterested by true power as shown in her various discussions with NPCs
She could take both Athens and Sparta alone if she wanted...

Heck, she is basically granted immortality
Think about what the wrong guy could do with that....
But, no, she lived a mostly normal life

For such a simple character, it makes sense to seal it and let things follow their normal course...following Pythagorus advice, a well known scientist...and her father too

A more ambitious character would have kept it, probably...

Anyway, the game doesnt let us the choice, so...we have to seal

Anyway...

I wouldnt handle nuclear power to some Ancient Greeks, for example

I wouldnt handle time machine, mind control device, true AI, or even immortality..... to anyone nowadays

Too risky...even more if one also doesnt even understand what it is, how it works and how to control it....which is the case for Kassandra and Atlantis

Eventually, keep the secret and use it for own benefit...but sharing...no way

Even if it could be used for the better, chances are super high it would end up being used for the worst
Sooner or later, the wrong hands will hold it, could be in a day or a century...but it will happen...and then...

watch the cutscene close when she passes the staff on to Layla. you see that it is a sphere and changes into the staff right when she meets layla in the future. i almost missed it because it happens so fast. so if this is the case and it is a sphere it would be very easy to have it on you at all times. it looked just like the artifacts she collected to seal atlantis. Someone watch again that scene and watch very closely to see if you see it too. she would then be able to live normally and be in society for all that time without anyone even seeing the staff unless she wanted them to see it because if it is one of the isu spheres that transforms at the persons will into the staff it makes sense that its easy to be concealed.
and in answer to whether we will be seeing Atlantis. One of the games DLCs is Atlantis so im sure we will get to see it then. that one comes out after the first blade dlc.
Also. since they presented her as living for so long everyone is hoping the next game they make will have Kassandra as character again like they did with the trilogy in the first assassin creed games with Ezio.

Doesnt remember the video exactly, but it makes sense for the 'staff power' to be the same sphere than the ones from mythical creatures

if you play again watch very close next time or reload before she closes it and watch. I think i didnt catch it until the second time i played through the game. its so easy to miss it.

I think we're going to see a lot more of Kassandra or alexios in upcoming Assassin Creed games after all she lived over 2000 years and she said that she has fight many wars so we could see her in other upcoming Assassin Creed games at different points in the timeline

I love her as character, she isn´t too girly like Lara, or too manly like usually are female villains. And her voice acting is brilliant. I would like to see her more. Just it will make no sense, since we saw Altair, Ezio, Bayek, Arno and others and no one ever mentioned her. She would have to have her own organization, independent on Assassins and Templars without many members since they have been 2000 years secret and can´t operate in London, French revolution, Russian revolution, etc. It will only complicate things.

Ficelle:
That is the thing. We don´t know what is there. There could be cure for all ilnesses, or unlimited source of food to eradicate famine, or just knowledge - biggest library. Seal something without knowing what is there is simply stupid.
Fear is the enemy of progress. Same as scientific discoveries without ethic are enemies of safety. As I said before, you need to control things, but not restrict them without sense. Golden middle way.

You wouldn´t be so principle if you, or someone close to you will be sick and dying before his or her time. Yes, road to hell is paved with good intentions. But also road without any compassion for other is a way to hell (or to government).
Yes, we can´t imagine nuclear power in antic times. But also cars, computers, electricity. Principle is same, too advanced, but could help in right hands. Keep it to yourself is selfish, destroy it is reckless, give it to secret organization is stupid (most likely it will be abused), so presented it on some international symposium to more people and if they don´t start wars over it then it could end up well. Or in WWIII. I am not saying I have right answer to such hypothetic question like “what to do if you find powerful artifact”.
Just take last things that happens. California fire, Hurricane Michael/ Florence, Indonesian earthquake, Vulcan on Hawaii and that’s are only natural disasters. What about fukushima, or mass shooting, or bomb attacks. If you have power to stop it, you will do nothing just to keep your artifact secret before world? What will you told to relatives of people who died in those incidents? “Sorry, but I know what is best for everybody, so trust me, it is better if they died even though I could have save them”.
