What happened to Layla Hassan, Abstergo and the Animus in Odyssey?

So I have the game on Uplay. I beat Origins and loved it so much. Thought it was amazing. Haven't played a game that good in a very long time. That was summer last year. Recently I started playing Odyssey. I understand the relation between Origins and Odyssey to an extent because it explains it a lot in Origins but what I don't see happening yet in Odyssey is any mention or connection to Layla, Abstergo or Animus? what happened to them?I am only 11 hours into the game will there be a connection later on?. Honestly that made Origins way more interesting an immersive, it added depth to the story and it tied in in a huge way with the Assassin's Creed saga.

Very curious. But please Try to keep the spoilers to a minimum please. In short just Yes or No lol

They accidently spawned a dragon and everyone died. There is a new main assassin character now named Bob the Destroyer and he is a 3½ft tall blind dwarf that is out for revenge and is now looking for an ISU dragon slaying crossbow.

Well i would say most animus stuff happens in the atlantis DLC. But even there it is not much of it. Odyssey have very little of the MD story. I never played Origins so i cant say how it connect but there is very little of the MD story. Wich is one of the reason why the AC fans are mad at the game. (That and the gameplay)

I love Odyssey PRECISELY because it doesn't feel that much like an AC game. I couldn't really care less about the modern timeline parts.
