Can't confirm cultist kill

So a cultist I killed fell off a cliff and into a platform of rock, making him inaccessible and impossible to confirm. I've closed the game and returned the next day and still stuck there. I've been looking around and this problem has been happening since the game came out. Have Ubisoft seriously not dealt with this yet?

That's frustrating. I had achieved four levels between my last save and this screw up. I can't even remember what I have and haven't done since then.

Use the autosaves. They usualy have 1-3 from right before you did something.

unfortunately not. There are a bunch of autosaves that occur *just* after I killed him. The nearest save before that was four levels ago, somehow.
