Krokeai Crowd in Bully the Bullies

So, I got the task to kill three Krypteia members. One is speaking to a small crowd in the village of Krokeai. Most walkthroughs only speak about sneaking up behind him to assasin him, but neither seems to have tried the option to bring up the crowd against him and attack him? Which is kind of a small revolt against Sparta. I wonder if this makes any difference? Anyone tried it? Any consequences?
