Earliest "weapon damage becomes fire damage" engraving?

I've seen mention around here and on reddit that it comes on a weapon from a level...46 or something mercenary, is that the earliest? Just wondering because a level 36 mercenary popped up for me (I'm 32 now) and he drops a weapon that converts damage to poison damage. Wondering if anything drops around this level...if not I may have to switch to a poison build and see if I can get my poison bonus anywhere near what my fire is at now. >.>

Quickest I ran across the fire engraving was from a level 47 merc that used the Hades bow. On southern part of island of Naxos on Mount Zeus there is a cave where you can get Fang bow which convert all basic arrows into poison; if you are looking to get your poison damage faster.

There's a single legendary mallet which grants "weapon damage becomes fire damage" and a single bow which grants "ordinary arrows become fire arrows". Likewise, AFAIK for poison there's only one melee option and one bow option. I don't think these legendary engravings will ever randomly show up on a non-legendary weapon.

Once you get these weapons you can slap the engravings on other melee weapons or other bows, as appropriate, but you need those weapons first. The poison bow is available at a specific location but the other three weapons are all from mercenaries.

Hmm...disappointing then that you get the poison damage engraving so much earlier than the fire one, then.

That engraving isnt worth it anyway. Just invest some point into the warrior skill that allows you to deal fire damage with all weapons and use a different weapon that actually boosts your damage.
