[Spoiler Warning] Legacy of the First Blade, Episode 2 = Bad Fanfic
If you haven't played Legacy of the First Blade, Episode 2 yet, turn back.

******

So I'm just at the end of LOTFB2, and I'm really unsurprised at the controversy surrounding it. It's not even the daft baby plot that sits wrong (although that was pretty annoying), it's the fact that the entire plot required Kassandra and everyone close to her to become utterly stupid for it to happen.

Okay, so the whole episode is full of talk about how they're being hunted by both the Order and the Cult and that Darius and Natakas really need to get out of Greece all together in order to escape them. Stuff happens, the Order is temporarily in disarray, and in this window of opportunity to get clean away, they come back? And then they all lose their bloody minds and decide to shack up on the coast of Achaia and play house for a few years? Wt actual and entire f.

Kassandra is faaaaaaamous by this point. Everyone knows who she is. Even people who don't care about the war, don't want to know about politics, and only follow sports know who she is. It'd be like Prince Charles deciding to settle down in a little town on the coast of Oregon with no security. Even if you didn't want to know about it, you'd still know about it. So the people hunting them were probably in utter disbelief at such catastrophic failure of good judgment and could plan an attack at their leisure. Anyone surprised that this is exactly what they did? Anyone? Hands? Didn't think so. The whole thing played out like badly written fan fiction. With a baby for extra wtf points.

Because when you're being hunted and fighting for your lives, adding a helpless, gold-plated piece of leverage to the playing field is just a brilliant decision. Especially when you're functionally immortal and have the time to wait out your enemies if procreating is really what you want to do. There was no sane reason for doing it immediately. And in the middle of nowhere. Not in, say, Sparta surrounded by bad-ass family and a nation of warriors. Nope. Middle of undefended, small-town nowhere with no backup. Genius.

So,I suppose I'm mainly just offended by the sheer cretinous imbecility of the whole thing. If a draft of this story had come into my hands as an editor, it would have gone back to the writer covered in sticky notes, red ink, and some really pointed plot questions.

I agree with everything. Is even worse with Episode 3 imo... the ridiculous crap you hear coming out of Alexios' (or Kass', if you're playing her) mouth is super cringe-worthy. Just pure garbage writing, unfortunately :epiczombie:

Listening to the the Episode 3 CRYING out of Alexios was sooo cringeworthy and infuriating. And it started in Episode 2....UGH. Just emotional crank yanking on the part of the writers. :steamfacepalm:
