Increased maximum player level to 99. NINE NINE.
Who at Ubisoft thought this was a good idea? Fifty levels was enough but double that is enough to make me hate leveling my gear!

You should thank Ubisoft, 'cause now your damage and life will increase until level 99. Before this update you would only gain ability points after level 70.

sigh, with new game+ , 70 levels are not enough.

i think its more of a problem that its this strange number and not 100...
Aru Feb 26, 2019 @ 11:10am
Yeah I don't get why it's not 100. Why the feck it's 99.

I'm not interested in new game+ because this games main "bait" is loot and in new game+ I will already have stuff I wanted with nothing left to collect. And beautiful world and mediocre story and missions aren't something that will motivate me to play everything again. There is already almost no meaningfull rewards in the game when it comes to loot, in ng+ there is going to be even less of it.

It is likely limited to a 2-digit number

Here's the problem: Increasing the player level does give you a stat boost, but so do all other enemies. Effectively, that means you got weaker or didn't progress at all. If you gained a level past the previous max level and put it into your assassin damage mastery, then that would mean you get flat out stronger and are progressing from a rpg point of view. It's simple math.

Levels have basically no effect in this game, except for keeping you more in certain provinces at the start of the game, and as a resource sink.

But still so many people complained bitterly about stopping leveling, because they like to see numbers go up even if it means nothing.

The most powerful characters will be those like my Kass that got all the bonus ability points they gave out during the upgrades. But it's a single player game. You could turn down the difficulty for the same effect.

As for NG+, I pretty much got my fill playing just the standard main game for about a million hours, I haven't even completed the free DLC. But I might go back to it if I can think of a good build. Also I will finally spend 1k+ orichalchum after collecting it for quite a while. Epic gear rolls will be good in that situation instead of bad.

Heh I'm also hoarding crapton of orichalcum. I spend it only ocassionaly on some sure items that you can buy from Fatboi Lootboxboie(™).

I just get the weapons since you have basically zero chance of rolling a full set of armor and I have no interest in the other stuff. Got the dagger I most wanted (Greek Hello) and a good bow for my long distance assassinations (Vine Bow) in the set weeklies, tbh I don't really need anything else.

Frankly it's a mystery to me why anyone would want to even play ng+ in a game this long that is 70% filler. Choice is never a bad thing I suppose but I am nearing 200 hours and I haven't even finished the game once.

See that might matter if enemies didn't scale but they do so it is pointless. The level increase is just more grind for no reward.

There wasn't even enough content for me to get to level 60, what the f*ck.

Personally I think its a ploy to get more people to spend money in micro transactions for upgrading gear more than people asking for more levels. Not everyone will, but enough to make Ubi more $$$. I have farmed my legendary gear and now have farm mats to level the gear several times to 99. That's just not fun...I would've preferred points to increase stats over levels like in Origins.

Not every game.

PC exclusive games often go over 100. I think I finished LOTRO at level 105.
