Max gear level?

I know the latest patch lets you level your character to 99.

Does equipment go to 99 as well or is it different. I don't wanna waste a ton of mats upgrading/engraving.

Yes the equipment scales with your level and you can also upgrade.

Gear continues to upgrade but from 11-61 with increments at 21, 31 and so on you got higher engraving stats on the gear. That didn't happen for me at 71. The primary engraving stayed at 19%. Dunno if that is just me and a bug or if they did some kind of diminishing return thing where we only get .5% every 10 levels now or what. I will know at 81.

Considering the blitz damage nature of the game, it would mean there really isn't much point in upgrading armor above 70 or 61 for that matter. The engravings you add are associated with the level you have unlocked at Hephaistos and isn't tied to your level or the level of the gear.

Kinda seems like a stupid system though. It means I will never be able to settle on a set of gear till level 99.

Why? I'm using almost the same gear since something like 50 levels already. I am upgrading my main weapon every level; and the rest of equipment every 10 levels (like 21, 31, 41, etc.). Works great for me, though this definitely makes sense to keep more difficult fights (like mythical monsters) for when I am freshly after complete up-versioning.

I don't know how you can afford to upgrade so often.

I'm at level 51 atm and upgrading 1 item costs tens of thousands of gold and hundreds of resources.

I don't think I can even make enough resources to upgrade that often even if I wanted to.

I haven't even finished upgrading the ship yet and the last ship upgrades cost like 10000 of each resource with like 300000 gold.

And before you ask I do have the reduced costs from merc tiers.

Cost of upgrades depend on type of item, current character level, and on how many levels item level is behind You. Upgrading by 1 level is relatively cheap. Upgrading 5 level is the most expensive, but also the cost will not increase any further. So upgrading by 10 levels costs about the same as upgrading 5 levels.

Since You are earning gold basing on Your current level, earning for complete upgrade of ~9 items each 10 levels is hardly a problem. You just should not over-spend. Plus this would be probably a bit harder if I was switching between several sets, i.e. if I was upgrading more often.

To make it even easier, I am *selling* all the purple and blue items. I have tons of resources from all the quests, free collecting, ship battles, etc. Not only I am able to afford all those equipment upgrads, I am also pending something like 5 final ship upgrades at level ~75. I am careful with ship upgrades by the way - ship upgrades are much less important to me than equipment upgrades, and I prioritize hull and arrows the most. Plus You're right, the final tier of ship upgrades is quite expensive - but this was recently added in a patch along with level cap update - so this is intended for levels 50-99.

Interesting and unintuitive, regarding the cost increase stopping. Is there a site or document where such mechanics are detailed?

Right now im selling gray items and dismantling everything else because they give precious gems which cost 100 each even with the 50% cost reduction.

I'll probably wait untill I have fully upgraded the ship 1st.

So far I've been changing gear the whole game using whatever epic item of highest level for each slot that has warrior damage as I'm using almost all warrior abilities.

I only have the last tier left in each ship category but they take a staggering amount of money and resources.

At higher level You can get 50 000+ drachmea for selling just a few epic items...

And gray items are so cheap that they are not worth selling.

ye pretty much this
drachmae and resources become irrelevant very soon so don't worry about spending for upgrades

I just found out I can't see any Level 10 engravings when I want to apply them, why is that? I clearly bought them from Hephaistos. My character is level 99 and the weapons and gear as well.
