Medusa Fight
Disappointing how hard this is. I play on easy because I can't play these types of fights all that well. Almost killed me (literally) to get through the others. I can't win this one, thus can't continue with that mission. Wish it was easy as I selected for the game. Oh well.......

Within that, there are little windows of a few seconds where you can do damage. You just have to be patient and take as much time as you need.

The bow has aim assist when you are locked on, try using fire/hunter gear and fire arrows. Hopefully you have a big stash of epic items to search through.

I found it strange how hard Medusa was compared to the Minotaur and the Cyclopes. Speaking as a visually impaired gamer of advanced years, she has too many facets - she portals around, has a laser eye attack, drops energy balls on you, and if you go for a close range attack she can grab you and do a ruck of damage that way. She's an absolute nightmare for players whose reactions aren't top notch. I'm not ahamed to admit I struggled like hell even on Easy and only muddled through by loading a previous save and filling my adrenaline bar before triggering the Medusa fight. I also found the Call of Ares ability useful for giving me some breathing space as you can't die for the 20-30 seconds it's active.

Ubisoft are making a big deal about improving accessibility for handicapped players, and while I appreciate their efforts, they serioulsly need to nerf the Medusa.

Well, I'm in my 60s and just can't get by this one, no matter how hard I try. This is one of the most fun games I've ever played (and at my age you can imagine I've played tons) but this particular mission is very frustrating and no matter the advice above, I can't ge through it.

For my 'strategy', or tbh my general approach to any prolonged combat in this game, use the minotaur's axe (or it's ability, -1 overpower cost) and one or two bonus adrenaline items.

The Medusa fight has a very simple structure.
At the start and from what I can tell is a fairly random point midway through the fight, she'll summon some weak statues. That is the 'hard' part. You'll need to kill those while avoiding her eyebeam. Pillars help a bunch, and those things thankfully die fast.
The rest of the fight is a simple repetition of eyebeam > teleport > barrage > teleport, repeat.
The barrage is super easy to avoid as long as you start moving and dont stop, as soon as she teleports, start running, and only then start worrying about where she went to.
The eyebeam can easily be immuned by using overpower, trivialising the mechanic. You'll have a couple seconds of hitting her before she teleports every time to regain adrenaline.
She will also randomly stab you with her sword smetimes for negligible damage, changes nothing.

As an aside, if anyone from ubisoft is also reading this. These mythical creature fights have been rather disappointing, they've pretty much just been punching bags. At least Medusa was an actual boss fight, but still incredibly easy. Took me two tries on nightmare. The farting boar, however, that one is on the opposite end of the spectrum...

I agree, I am on my last boss, the Medusa to finish the Atlantis Quest and the Battle to defeat her is S T U P I D, I have been an hour over and over on easy mode, best weapons and armor etc level 51, I have tried every combination and evry technique but Im dead within 3 to 5 mins WTF? or is this boss bugged? WAAAYYY too difficult for easy mode! I have enjoyed the game up to this point, now I want to forget the rest and move on to another game! Blaaah!

if you really want you can actually go range all the time.. if too hard..
you also get arrows from the arrow stand and material too..

i did it with a melee/fire build (no legendary armor)..
but at the end i ahd one moment she suddenly got me to retreat and use bow to finish off..

Actually MEdusa with bow only doesnt saound too bad since you can still craft new arrow in battle too.
I run since a day my new Bow build and im pretty happy .. even if i cant take too muc hits..
(using +100% dmg but 25% HP capped abilty aswell)

I do one shot everything on map for 2million and above..Bosses might different since 2 Damage factors dont work, but My Last Boss on this Playthroug hwas today the cyclops of the atlantis story, with my new build i did it in 2-3 shots xD.. (but also i had to watch out , stone might 1 shot me )

She is easy, dont malee her, use arrow.

2 patterns, if she isnt shooting laser, she use light napalm, so you either hide behind pillars, or walk from pillar to pillar.

And use arrow, always use arrow. Since you cant find an opening to get near her.

I feel like you're doing something wrong in that case. Dodge often. Hide behind pillars. You can fire from behind cover without getting lasered.

I had to wait until I had better armor and weapons to finally beat her

Killed her in my first try and she was 2 or 3 levels above me.

It's not so much tough as tedious... first of all, do a respec and equip the health recovery ability. You'll need it. Second, stay in motion all the time. Get behind the pillars at the end of her gaze attack, as it can one-shot you, but don't stay there—her lightning will hit you even in cover. Thirdly, forget about all melee attacks, if she grabs you, she'll finish you if you're slightly low on health. Stay at range and hit her with the bow whenever you can, but don't get greedy or she'll fry you. It will take a long time, but if you get into the rhythm of things, it's a fairly safe if rather monotonous fight.

defeated her on hard twice but it was a long fight. just keep moving and strike when you have the chance. run and keep doing that. i used healing and overpower attacks on her alot when i fought her. not one arrow as i do warrior assassin build. the minions actually give you a chance to build up your yellow bar (Adrenaline) to be able to heal and use overpower attacks.

Actually this is one of the easier fights in the game.

Medusa follows a strict pattern and doesn't deviate from it so it's all about learning the timing. As someone else said, just run in a circle until you get the timing down and remember when she pauses long enough for you to get a couple bow shots off then keep running again.

Once you get the timing down you will literally be bored because the only annoying thing about the fight is how long it actually takes to kill her, not how difficult it is, it's just boring.
