Ubisoft are making a big deal about improving accessibility for handicapped players, and while I appreciate their efforts, they serioulsly need to nerf the Medusa.
Within that, there are little windows of a few seconds where you can do damage. You just have to be patient and take as much time as you need.
The bow has aim assist when you are locked on, try using fire/hunter gear and fire arrows. Hopefully you have a big stash of epic items to search through.
The Medusa fight has a very simple structure.
At the start and from what I can tell is a fairly random point midway through the fight, she'll summon some weak statues. That is the 'hard' part. You'll need to kill those while avoiding her eyebeam. Pillars help a bunch, and those things thankfully die fast.
The rest of the fight is a simple repetition of eyebeam > teleport > barrage > teleport, repeat.
The barrage is super easy to avoid as long as you start moving and dont stop, as soon as she teleports, start running, and only then start worrying about where she went to.
The eyebeam can easily be immuned by using overpower, trivialising the mechanic. You'll have a couple seconds of hitting her before she teleports every time to regain adrenaline.
She will also randomly stab you with her sword smetimes for negligible damage, changes nothing.
As an aside, if anyone from ubisoft is also reading this. These mythical creature fights have been rather disappointing, they've pretty much just been punching bags. At least Medusa was an actual boss fight, but still incredibly easy. Took me two tries on nightmare. The farting boar, however, that one is on the opposite end of the spectrum...
you also get arrows from the arrow stand and material too..
i did it with a melee/fire build (no legendary armor)..
but at the end i ahd one moment she suddenly got me to retreat and use bow to finish off..
Actually MEdusa with bow only doesnt saound too bad since you can still craft new arrow in battle too.
I run since a day my new Bow build and im pretty happy .. even if i cant take too muc hits..
(using +100% dmg but 25% HP capped abilty aswell)
I do one shot everything on map for 2million and above..Bosses might different since 2 Damage factors dont work, but My Last Boss on this Playthroug hwas today the cyclops of the atlantis story, with my new build i did it in 2-3 shots xD.. (but also i had to watch out , stone might 1 shot me )
2 patterns, if she isnt shooting laser, she use light napalm, so you either hide behind pillars, or walk from pillar to pillar.
And use arrow, always use arrow. Since you cant find an opening to get near her.
so my reflexes etc wasnt good.. also did msitakes..
But still managed to do Medusa in 10 minutes safely (medusa was the 3rd Boss i did, i did as last Boss Cyclops after patch 1.07)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f3WBaxy7nI
and some crit health gears
killed her on da first try after reading about it in forums..
I had to wait until I had better armor and weapons to finally beat her
Medusa follows a strict pattern and doesn't deviate from it so it's all about learning the timing. As someone else said, just run in a circle until you get the timing down and remember when she pauses long enough for you to get a couple bow shots off then keep running again.
Once you get the timing down you will literally be bored because the only annoying thing about the fight is how long it actually takes to kill her, not how difficult it is, it's just boring.
