Gotta go with Sparta unless Athens promises me mounds of silver Drachmas. I imagine everyone on this forum would absolutely hate actually living in ancient Sparta and would much prefer Athens but something about Sparta just appeals to many. I guess because it is so alien to our ways and the discipline of the soldiers is so legendary. There is certainly much to despise if you go deeper into their society though.

I had that feeling from the start too, as we didn't really get to see the Athenian side of things most of the time. I think I'll just chose whoever seems the most appealing to me, though Athens has a head start considering I'm a hug mytho nerd and Athena is my favourite Olympian, tied with Artemis. Sparta treated their women better though, but Athens would be a muuuchhh better place to actually live in. But honestly, who wouldn't want to scream 'THIS. IS. SPARTAAAA!'?

Athens all the way. Democracy, philos, medicine, saving Greece from Persian servitude. Spartans were despotic slavers with horrible taste in food. Spartans are way cooler in popular culture and in myth, I'll grant that. Then again, "THIS IS ATHENS!" sounds silly...
