207 Max ability points? (changed in patches back in 2020, stop necroing this old thread)

So despite there being thousands of things you can invest points on in the mastery tree, there are realistically only about 207 points the game will allow you to acumulate via any means. Thats Normal 1-70 leveling which now accounts for 99 given the 30 point bonus you get at 70. The isu artifacts add a few more, and then mastery will allow you to make up the rest. Once you hit this cap, no matter what you do, you can no longer gain any more ability points. Is there any plan to fix this or add more points in? I'd use to say that 100+ levels of mastery would be crazy, but now with lower cost, and xp boosters from the store you can rack in a few mastery levels pretty easy. Long enough playing will hit the cap.

you mean that you can get only 207 ability points and that you have to farm all others at level 70?! you're right. And? A problem with that?
If you dont feel like farming them, we assume you've finished the game, and you'll move to something else.
Or you like the game and want to invest in it, even if you're at level cap, even if you've finished everything, and you'll enjoy developping slowly your toon to gain a few % of damage and resistance.

Or maybe I havent understood properly: do you mean that there's a hard cap you cant pass in term of ability points, even if you farm at level 70 like crazy?!

Yep, I don't believe there is actually a limit, you can max out everything and still keep getting points as far as I know.

You just don't want to invest the time.

There is a hard cap of 207 ability points. Nothing rewards any more after hitting that cap. You can keep getting mastery levels or isu artifacts, but they don't do anything at that point.

You tested it with a cheat or something? Maybe it's bugged because you cheated it?
In my case, I already have 119 points, which means that according to your testing I can get only 88 from now. Really odd.
If it's the case, maybe it will be rised later on with future patches/DLC
I doubt people have already tested it genuinly without using a cheating system.

leveling to 70 give you 69, if you reach lv50 before the previous patch, you get extra 10, if you reach lv 70 before this patch, you get extra 30,

and you get a few more from tomes,

Unless you farm like crazy, getting ability point at mastery is very difficult, each time you get a mastery ability point, the require exp increases.

So to say, even without hard cap, getting to 200 points itself is difficult.

As I said above I have 88 point to go before reaching that hard cap (if it really exists...)
For some farmers out here, getting 1M xp / hour is easy (not for me though), so if they are playing/farming for 70-90 hours, they will reach that hard cap (once more, if it really exists... ). Guess we'll start to hear about it in a few days from now, some people are really mad farmers :P

For some harcore farmers (and there are quite a few here) it's not that dificult.
Having already 120-130 points these days is quite common, that's only 70-80 points to go.
With roughly 1M xp / point we're talking here only about days maybe weeks before having a lot of farmers at that point.

nowhere.
I bet TNSEE "cheated it" somehow and wasnt able to go beyond 207 ability points, now no idea if it's a intentional feature from UBI, a lie from the OP here in the thread, or a possible bug.

Not by any means, if you know where to look. It's possible to have everything. Just most people are against it.

TNSEE is only saying that once you have cumulated 207 ability points overall (leveling, bonus points, artifacts and so on) you cant get new points anymore, even if you continue to raise your mastery level. No idea how he managed to test it, but that's it.

I have got everything at max skill-wise and at this point everytime I gain an ability point it just doesn't show up in the skill menu
