NightTime makes no difference as an assassin
I do love this game, but...

As Iam playing building a stealth assassin.. I have found that fastforwarding time to Night makes no difference, mobs still spot you just the same as in the daylight..

One of the features i loved about Origins was the ability to wipe out entire Garrisons, forts and guardposts by a 100% stealth run, just like a true assassin..

WITHOUGHT A S O U N D

but in odyseey, guards, bandits and animals spot you just the same as you get closer, even when crouched...

The only advantage Nighttime has now is that you can see their white outline easier in the dark.. Which tells me that, unlike Origins.. NightTime in Odyseey must be there to serve certain story arcs.. and not, unlike in Origins, a different way of playing..

Anyone else find this?

There is a small difference: nighttime you do more damage if you have 3 points in your stealth ability -- the assassin ability on the left hand side of the assassin tree, 4th from the bottom.
in night time there is a skill that gives you more assassin damage and guards are more likely to go to bed

Doesn't matter if you are invisible.

Actually, if you wait a bit, guards tend to wander to their bunks and a much smaller force is actually awake and alert. It becomes a lot easier to bypass threats or eliminate people in their sleep. Also, night most certainly reduces a foes likelihood to see you from afar and some skills give you a bonus to assassinate at night.

Just because the modifiers are not visible does not mean they don't exist.

That, I didnt know... Thanks for that .. ill check that out..

To quote everyone... Yes, I do admit that guards do sleeping shifts alot more and theres fewer of them... I think what Iam more referring too is when your hiding/crouching in a bush or haystack.. and theres a guard near by.. and you move 1mm .. they just spot you and the whole camp wakes up and runs after you.. im sure Origins wsant that "super eye-spy" ...

However, over on UPlay, UBI have released the new 1.1.2 patch notes, which is out tomorrow / today.. and you can adjust the mob levelling.. ..

As much as i love this game... I just dont feel the thrill of the assassin hunt as i did in Origins... it all kinda feels generic, like an MMO...

Maybe its me..

This is one of the reasons the playable character makes a statement about the day/night change if you don't meditate and use/are around the natural sunrise/sunset: To let you know the assassin effect is active/disabled.

I love swooping in while the enemies are asleep and just assassinating all of them lol.
