Sync points are specific high locations you need to reach and press the prompt key to 'synchronize' and discover nearby points of interest. Usually they're on top of buildings or on some cliffs you have to climb.
A lil bit extra info, your character discovery radius on land is 400m and 800m while on a ship.
The loading screen may have a tip describing synchronization.
The abilities screen should have something on it, too. Check the bottom row for information about your eagle, Ikaros.
After that you can fast travel there from the map.
Just pay attention to the hud and prompts. It'll baby step you through all the controls.
You see it everywhere - the assumption that everyone already knows certain things.
IRL: everyone must use the bathroom, do you have to ask where when starting a new job, or does the person training you take this into consideration, meaning they may or may not leave out other things to make you more effective at your job....
As for Sync point icons, they will visually disappear when you get close, so I find putting a WP mark on them in the map helps once I get close enough.
Bring up the bird and all the icons reappear and Mark the on you want.
Good tip for sure.
That is a very good point.
I remember my first AC game and wondering what in the world a synch point was. Took me a bit to figure it out.
Now that I think about it, a lot that I take for granted were actually struggles trying to figure out my first time.
Things like how to jump and run effectively.
There is a bit of a learning curve with AC.
Don't worry too much about the modern-day storyline...it's very minor and most of the major moments are left to the AC comic books. All you need to know is the modern-day folks are accessing memories of past people and reliving them to see what happened. Just follow the Greek storyline since that's what the bulk of the game is about.
