I'm trying to get to the oracle but the game told me to use finesse so i figured id try and get to the door without murdering anyone but theres a guard who just stares at the door is there a way to get by him without alerting anyone?

I didn't need to kill anyone. just talk to the priest or whatever outside and cut everyone

Can you throw a torch or something to distract him and then drop and KO him with a choke?

Let's say it matters if you get there undetected, but not much. In fact, I suspect that if you get there silently, you will find yourself right in this guard face after custcene ends - and it is not the last time when game will encourage you to be silent and screw you up.

I have a feeling things go poorly for the oracle if you attract attention to yourself and thus reveal that she has talked with you. In odyssey your choices and deeds have repercussions. I killed the guards, and I have seen a scene some time afterwards that was probably a result of that. However since I haven't done the mission full stealth, I cannot be 100% certain. I know this game has lots of branching paths though.

Zombiepost: So, I tried this mission by creeping to the roof, whistle-distracting the courtyard guard (yellow alarm), and using Vanish when I spawned directly in front of the door guard (another yellow alarm). There was no red alarm, and I did not lay a finger on any of the guards. Some random dude was being tortured at the meeting instead of the Pythia.
