Did Oracle mission auto Failed "Wolfs Fate" Does it matter?

As the title says.. upon completing my conversation with the Oracle it said I failed the "Wolfs Fate" quest. Does this matter in the long haul?

Same as in another thread, people said to try and reload the game to do the quest, others say it does not matter. Mostly depends if you spare the wolf or not.
