Leaving Command of ship at sea??????

Can you leave your ship without a dock? If so how? I haven't been able to do it. TY

hold the smae button with which you took controle over the ship at every point you want if you are outside of combat, then you can leafe it there and fast travel away or swim away.

you can leafe your ship everywhere, not only at the coast but also in the middle of the sea surrounded by nothing but water.

The only way I have ever taken control of a ship it said "leave dock". I use the right arrow key for that. I tried holding that down and nothing?? I watched a youtube of a ship and I saw the command "take command" and "leave command" being used at sea but I have pushed every key I have and nothing will let me stop being in control of the ship. Still need some help and TY.

are you sailing or are you just floating in place? Pretty sure you can't row/sail and leave command. It's the same button as when docking/undocking, held down

Try checking your key-bindings.

disengage the control of ship think its holding down the b buttom in controller. then just jump over broad(into the water)...that guy will say captain left etc, etc. to go back to ship just swim or fast travel to ship or if at shipping dock just call it to you.

edit: just reread you second statement....when facing were you normally stand when in control be sure you are right in the center as close as possible to that rail...something should pop up asking you to take control and what to push also. if not maybe you got some of your hud thingies turn off?

You have to hold the key down for a few seconds. It's the same key you use to take command and mount your horse

In the default key mode the magic key is E. Because I made several changes in the key bindings including "interact" to another key it won't work. Basically you cannot screw with the E key in any way. I left every place in the key nindings that E was referenced alone and made other changes I wanted and it now works fine. I programmed E to button 4 on my mouse and I use that for every interaction in the game which includes the elusive take and leave command. Thanks for feedback.

Yes they did, I normally hate swimming in games, the beauty of the water makes it enjoyable in this one!

I really enjoy the combatat sea and have invested in my ship already. One question is how do you know the level of the ships you see out there? I have used the bird and marked them but no real info.

If you put Icaros in Suspend modde you can scroll the cursor over a target. You should see a box with the ship name, class, and level.

It's the same button you use to dock your ship or board a destroyed ship. Just press the button or key down and hold it until you are released from command.
In my opinion, they should've just made it the same as the button you use to take command of the ship. 🙄
