Looking for tips to make the game harder
I'm looking for tips to make the game harder.

Currently I play with the following settings:

- I play on nightmare with the 100%+dmg, -75% health engraving

- The HUD is completely disabled and removes the bow crosshair (exciting and rewarding
combat, like landing a headshot with the bow without crosshair)

- Map icons are disabled + I do not use the map anyway

- I rely on using the hints provided in the quest log only (very rewarding when I find a cult member
with the hints only)

- I do not fast travel and therefore use landmarks or my memory to find my way. (removes the
arcade feeling of running from point a to point b)

- I do not buy resources or sell armor/weapons (this is too rewarding), only dismantling.

- I ignore most abilities, since they are overpowered and unrealistic.

I could fight in my underpants or with fists only, but that is kinda boring and the gear looks way too nice. Capturing forts is a joke right now. The ai needs a bigger view cone and their movement patterns are way too obvious. They should be able to react on shady silhouettes running on rooftops. And heavier armor should make more noise. But as a player I can't do much about things that require changing the game files.

If anyone knows of ways too make the game more challenging and adventurous, please let me know. It would make this wonderfull game even more fun. :)

Haha, I could try that. But the game looks too nice for that.

Play warrior builds, instead of OP hunter.

You could try to play it only with one hand... Blindfolfed and standing on a foot xD

Maybe do a just barehand playthrough? No weapons (Except when the quests requires it)

Is the game really that easy, I just started playing on hard mode.

I never play hunter builds actually. Only assassin.

I believe it is actually the fault of the lacking ai. But then again they can remaster it with a super ai in 30-40 years and add it to a season pass. :D

Yeah but as said in my op, fighting naked and barehanded is boring. And the game does not support naked greek wrestling. :p

Switch off sound.
Don't use and don't upgrade abilities.
Don't upgrade weapons, use ones you get in the beginning.
Don't upgrade ship, don't appoint lieutenants on a ship. Or appoint weakest ones.
Don't use bow.
Don't use stealth.

There's much more ways to make your game harder!

I reset my abilities and only kept spartan kick (the most awesome move ever).
The problem with not upgrading weapons is the fact that npc's become damagesponges and fights take forever then. I keep low lvl armor and change the appearance of it though. I still use the bow, but without a crosshair landing a headshot is crazy. Practice makes perfect I guess.
Not upgrading the ship is a good tip, thx. Only upgrading the offensive abilities. So playing smart, luring enemy ships into weak positions and accelerate at the right time to dodge incoming attacks might do the trick. I think I'll try that. :)
